Ashes: Test 1 on 06:24 - Jul 11 by DiddyDave | Fourteen wickets on the first day of any test match is utter bollox. What sort of a wicket is that? I don`t think they`d prepare that type of wicket for a County game,so why do it for the biggest test series in the game? Think there`s been a bit of lateral thinking here and only time will tell whether this obvious ploy will work, but as often happens in sport,it could end up biting England in the arse. |
Wait til they get to the real old Trafford. Since turning the wicket the batting totals have tumbled. I've got a Saturday ticket I just hope the match lasts that long.
Ashes: Test 1 on 12:20 - Jul 11 with 1405 views | aleanddale | 9 down - need to finish them off and then bat and bat until they are dropping from heat exhaustion!! still think this could end up a 3 day test but would love to be proved wrong.

Billy not allowed to take his trumpet, so he's gone to county cricket instead.

Ashes: Test 1 on 14:17 - Jul 11 with 1245 views | aleanddale | Well battted TBF. If this gives the Engish batsmen a kick up the a**e then it might end up a good thing!! Can see Swanny having a big influence in the 4th innings he could be unplayable!!
Ashes: Test 1 on 14:24 - Jul 11 with 1236 views | ChaffRAFC | This is becoming very frustrating. Outstanding from Agar, some of the shots he's been playing are Flintoff like in that there's little foot movement, but there's been some quite brilliant shots more like Pietersen. Out for 98. Quite remarkable.

Ashes: Test 1 on 15:31 - Jul 11 with 1172 views | aleanddale | Well played indeed. Deserved his 100. The ball not doing anything like now so lets follow his example and post a really challenging total for the aussies. If we can bat at least 4 sessions that should see us with a lead around the 300 mark. Got to bat properly now!!.

Errrrm... Balls! We're seriously lacking something at the top of the order since Strauss has gone. Everyone looks panicked. Need a huge partnership from Cook and KP now.

Ashes: Test 1 on 15:59 - Jul 11 with 1141 views | ChaffRAFC | In real time, I thought Trott was out without a doubt, then to not see the ball clearly move off the inside edge of the bat was a poor decision. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Ashes: Test 1 on 18:36 - Jul 11 with 1095 views | ColDale | what an great test match this is. Tomorrow morning's session will probably determine the rest of the test, but every session has seen the momentum go the other way so far. Few question marks over the key decisions. Not seen the stumping yet, but from what I saw Root wasn't out and there wasn't the evidence to overturn the umpire's decision on Trott. Maybe a more established Root would have got to the 3rd umpire. Bookies have us favourites. Best odds for us is 4-6. Aussies 7-4. I'd make it more even than that, but bookies know much more than I do.

Ashes: Test 1 on 19:40 - Jul 11 with 1047 views | Clivert | An astonishing Test Match so far and bringing back memories of the 2005 series when the momentum swung each way session by session rather than Test Match by Test Match. Who says that Test Match cricket is boring???
