Stats say it was the most boring game all season and I would agree, absolute painful watch but then playing with 10 men (Redmond) puts us at a disadvantage. Ralph really has no answers.

We badly miss what KWP brings both to the defence and attack. No threat from either of the full backs on either flanks. We didn’t turn up for 30 minutes but gradually played our way into the game and probably deserved a draw at the end but only one shot on goal and we look clueless in the final third. With players coming back this week we should beat the Blades but let’s hope the injury to Moussa isn’t too bad. He was my MotM for the second time running.

Couldn't agree more. Awful game, created nothing, 1 shot on target is woeful. Bednarek is not a RB. As for Redmond, yet again he contributes absolutely nothing. I despair, how does Ralph keep him on the pitch for 87 min is beyond me. Just hope Djenepo wasn't injured at the end. If we can't create chances then we have major problems. Play a couple of the youngsters, it can't be any worse. Tella is worth a run in the team, offers so much more than Redmond.

Redmond has to be dropped for the next game he always pulls out of 50/50 tackles and he gave the ball away all night. Ramsay should have started at right back because Bednarek cant play there. Why are we so slow building up and why do we keep passing backwards?

Feeling numb to the results over the past month. Feels like we're plodding from one defeat after another. Everton turned up today, were not spectacular, they were not tested for 80 minutes and eased to 3 pts.

Not sure where the next goal is coming from never mind points.

Just fed up and deflated with the monotony and predictable nature of the last 6 weeks or so.

I realize that football support is a marathon not a sprint but right now I feel like the opportunities to turn the corner are fewer with each game and with each game the pressure increases. Can Ralph get the team out of the malaise or is the damage too ingrained?

Well all those Forster fans got what they wanted! Don’t see why he was in goal and certainly hope that McCarthy is back in it for Sheffield United as he was blatantly at fault for their goal getting caught flat footed! I mean in the end I’d say it all rests on that game as if we lost to Sheffield United who’re basically relegated now, as if we loose that, it’ll be 1 win in 15 games or 1 point in 10 games!

Bad when you want your own player injured! Not seriously, just to the end of his contract. If "he" keeps getting picked you're going to need a 0 in the player ratings Nick. That guy Souness signed was far superior!
If we didn't have Stuey we'd have nothing!

Although not a great performance, we battled well for the most part. Went down to a very good goal.

We competed well and I'm hoping this is a step on the way to a recovery.

Everton seemed to go down if the wind hit them. Salisu showed he has a bit to learn about playing as CB in the PL.

Agree with the comments that we look lost in the final third. We seem to snatch at everything. Ings seems desperate to make something happen, to the point of even crowding out his own team at times.

Redmond once again seems to come in for some criticism. I don't see singling him out as being justified. He does need to bulk up though, gets pushed off the ball a bit too easily. He makes some good direct runs just no one there as usual to cross to.

Djenepo once again MOTM for me. Some superb tackles. Ran his heart out. Our new right back!

Hopefully a performance we can build on.

ElijahK. Clearly know nothing about goal keeping. Nothing he could have done, laid bare by the defence, a goal the moment the through ball was played.
Still far superior to McCarthy, a back-up keeper at best as demonstrated by his entire career

Depressing game - just like Leeds a tame defeat to a useful but not outstanding side who weren't even playing that well. The most worrying thing is that we didn't look like scoring until right at the end. We are beyond caring whether we 'deserve' a point - we just needed one of those to go in at the end.

I have been trying, in my old age, not to lay into players unless they are exceptionally appalling but I am afraid Redmond fitted that description tonight. The Bednarek 'experiment' at RB has to come to an end. He looks so uncomfortable. If that oaf Calvert-Lewin hasn't crippled him I would play Djenepo there until KWP is fit. I thought the bigger Everton players bullied us tonight, just at the edge of the law, and sometimes beyond it. We look terribly lightweight, and more so without Romeu. Even so it was a travesty that we ended up with two yellows to their none. I expect Sheffield to leave the old arm or foot in on Saturday.

We need KWP and Diallo back soon. Otherwise we are a light-weight team, easily bullied and prone to injury who look like conceding and don't look like scoring - AKA a relegation team. The fact that we got so many points early on will probably save us but with every defeat it becomes a closer run thing. Lose on Saturday and we are deep in it...

First 20 minutes we played really poorly and couldnt keep the ball. Their goal was disappointing. After that, thought we did well and could have easily got the draw. Mousa currently my favourite player. Stewie had a really good game. The youngsters did well, esp. Tella and Watts and Dan will come through in time.. I'm not despondent after that performance. We March On.

You having a laugh dellboywally! Did you not see the game or something? Or did you and your other 6 accounts hear it on the radio!? Forster came out got caught flat footed and Richarlison just tapped it round him! I mean I don’t see what everyone’s obsession with Forster is as he yeah he kept a clean sheet against Liverpool and in the FA Cup games, but in the end other than one decent save he made against Firminho, those games he had barely anything to do and the defence did the work for him! McCarthy on the other hand has kept us in many of the games, and other than that Arsenal mess up he made, he’s done nothing that’s been completely his fault, hence why he has been and should be in goal for our main team! I mean you don’t see the great keepers like Neur, Ter Stegan, De Gea etcget caught out like that as any decent keeper would’ve come out stretching their legs to expand their area, Forster just simply ran out and practically stood there! I mean if people really do think that Forster wasn’t at fault for the first goal then I don’t know what you expect from keepers as in the end he only to deal with that shot throughout the whole game, and yet still let it in!

We were awful tonight, apart from the last 10 mins or so.
We just couldn't get our passing game going, consistently gave the ball away, tried silly flicks that handed possession back, turned into trouble with the ball, gave away silly fouls, stood their as zonal statues for free kicks, played too many out of position, rarely threatened to get in their box - let alone generate a chance and when we finally managed a few shots near the end, we failed to test the keeper apart from a Vest effort.

At times it was like we were content to accept a small defeat and were continually content to pass backwards than drive towards goal. At least that changed with the subs and we actually created a few chances, but unfortunately we were off target or the chances fell to the wrong players. Everton won at a canter and could have gone up another couple of gears. We only threatened at the end.

Hopefully we will have Diallo and KWP available this weekend, meaning that we can regain some shape and play people like Armstrong in their proper positions and go for that much needed win.

Very disappointed with Forster. His poor attempt at preventing their goal cost us the points. VAR saved us from going two down.

Forster waits for a game and then puts in a poor opening attempt to prevent their goal. Everton put the ball in the net a second time and a bemused and flustered Forster is saved by VAR. Not much to choose between our goalies, both will make great saves but both will be beaten.
I have always thought that Redmond offered plenty but reluctantly I wish we had started with Tella.

Forster has let in 1 goal in his last 5 games, which have mostly been against top teams: Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton.

McCarthy has let in 18 goals in his last 5 games and according to Opta stats, he is the worst hoalkeeper in the Premier League with the poorest save per shot percentage. He saves almost nothing, and there were 2 saves Forster made v Everton which McCarthy wouldn't have. If he'd been playing, we'd have lost 3-0.
