He had one successful year as a manager, with Crotone in Serie B in 2015/16. Apart from that, his career has been nothing special. Let's hope that both he and we can repeat the 2015/16 season. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Juri%C4%87 [Post edited 20 Dec 11:34]

| Forum Thread | 4,000 tickets left for Liverpool cup game at 19:40 13 Dec 2024
At the rate they're selling, it won't be far off capacity. A good result against Spurs would probably see it sell out. All of our remaining league games look like selling out anyway. At the rate the Southampton area's population is increasing, the demand for tickets will continue to grow in the long-term, regardless of results. Of course, that's the same for most of the country, which is why so many clubs are building bigger stadiums. The population inside the city limits has increased by more than 30,000 since St Mary's was built, and in the surrounding area by far more. So, like the change in the setup and the safe standing at St Mary's, this is inevitably going to happen whether saints fan '73 likes it or not: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c623v4dd26eo [Post edited 14 Dec 13:03]

| Forum Thread | What's happened to the player ratings? at 11:28 5 Dec 2024
Player ratings for both teams used to be a regular, well-presented feature on this site. Even when they do appear nowadays, they're presented as being on the Swansea site, and for one team's players only. [Post edited 5 Dec 11:29]

| Forum Thread | Premier League supercomputer predicts..... at 13:52 12 Nov 2024
"Brighton, who have started superbly under Fabian Hurzeler, will finish fifth......Newcastle and Tottenham are predicted to take the final European spots, in sixth and seventh respectively, with Bournemouth just missing out." "In the relegation zone, Southampton are expected to be cut adrift, finishing rock bottom on a measly 13 points (only two more than the record low total). Above them are fellow newly-promoted side Ipswich on a slightly less paltry 22 points. And rounding off the relegated sides are Wolves, missing out on goal difference to Leicester, with both on 27 points." Better than Derby! Right now, many of us might think that's slightly overoptimisitic. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/premier-league-supercomputer-predicts-f [Post edited 12 Nov 13:58]

| Forum Thread | Saints only have 2 Premier League quality players at 13:06 23 Oct 2024
"Alex Crook says Aaron Ramsdale and Tyler Dibling are the only two Southampton players who are good enough to play in the Premier League." And I think the only reason we got Ramsdale was fan pressure and the fact the people in charge of recruitment at the Club didn't get the injured Dutch goalkeper who was their first choice. Although a few others might be good enough to sit on the benches of teams at the bottom of the league, there seems to have been a massive failure of recruitment both at managerial and player level. https://www.givemesport.com/alex-crook-names-only-southampton-stars-with-premier [Post edited 23 Oct 13:53]
