I'm not overly convinced with Dibling. He didn't do much today and couldn't break down Burnley's defence. He has missed quite a few chances in the PL too and hasn't scored many if any goals? However, I sense he is p!ssed off, playing in such a terrible team.
[Post edited 8 Feb 20:59]

Yep, as I predicted on here after the pre season games where he stood out a mile and in particular the Millwall friendly, Dibling was outstanding and I said then that he reminded me of Le Tiss . He will be playing for a big club soon without a doubt. However he showed yesterday he probably can’t be arsed with playing in the worst Southampton team I’ve seen since 1971.

The jury is still out for me on Juric.

What we do know is that Downes has not performed this season and has been poor. without knowing exactly what has gone on between Juric and Downes, he probably had a few home truths and didn't like it, or his agent is pulling the strings ?

If Downes is angling for a move, he needs to improve. There will not be a queue of clubs chasing him at this rate.

For me it is quite clear there is a lot of unrest at the club behind the scenes. I suspect there is a lot of division in the changing room; those who like the easy life under their mate RM, and those who want to succeed and work hard under IJ or any other.

I would think there are also some players who have simply had a gut full of SFC and just want out and who can blame them. Probably best in the summer if we just release everyone and start again totally, only keeping those with the right attitude.

Ivan’s gone in and told the players they are a bunch of lazy fookers and the poor little lambs are all upset. Well done Ivan but unfortunately it looks like he’s a pretty useless manager stuck to his awful 3-4-3 formation

As we all know, and has been said countless times, the problems begin at the top so the clear out should begin from the top.

It's at every level. We could have a clear out at the top and still be stuck with the likes of McCarthy, Stephens, Bednarek and Smallbone. The soft core of mediocre players has been here for years. When we finally get rid of McCarthy, I'll start to believe the club is ready to change. I'm not holding my breath.

One actually wants to be here, Downes doesn’t. He was hesitant from the start. Signed for his pal, Lego, now tried to force a move to Ipswich (despite being utter sh*t all season).

I don't think any of the better players want to be here. Would you waste the best years of your career here if you were any good? The only ones who are content to stay are the ones who are so cr@p they know no other club would have them. That's why McCarthy will always be here.

"That's why McCarthy will always be here." That wins the most doom laden comment of yesterday for me. If I see shite, I like to call shite but actually Macca had a good game yesterday. And boy have Saints fans got short memories, it was only last week Saints had a spirited win away to Ipswich. If we beat Bournemouth Juric will be given the key to the City LOL!
It was dis-spiriting yesterday but remember Burnley have one of the best defensive records in the football league and are a decent team. We just didn't quite have the class to finish them off although we easily could have done.
The worrying thing for me was Juric's team selection with one centre half, two on the bench, Manning left wing half and Aribo filling in occasionally at centre back. Weird, worrying and wrong. It was clear he was asking for trouble with a team that are no mugs.
Sulemana and Wellington were the only ones that showed any promise or gave me any hope.
Let's just hope Juric can forget his stupid experiment and return to some common sense against Bournemouth, otherwise we're going to get slaughtered. And that would be very embarassing despite Bournemouth being a miles better team.

Yes the club do have a problem it’s their clueless manager.

Look at his record.
Sacked three times by Genoa, mid table mediocrity with Torino was it, and finally criticised for his poor management style and results with Roma and sacked after three months. How was that ever going to work here?

But for example, what an astute signing Scott Parker has been for Burnley.

It's just becoming heart breaking to witness what Sport Republic have done to this club. When you see the likes of Bella Ketchup and Wood on the bench yesterday it makes me wonder if they are meddling with who Juric decides will play, or if he really made that decision himself.
The way it is now, nothing would surprise me.

I'm not going to jump on the "get Juric out" bandwagon yet.
He's having to work with a bunch of players that just aren't good enough & some with bad " don't want to be here" attitudes.
There's not a Manager/ Coach on the Planet that could get results with this squad.

When the ship is sinking then chaos is no surprise.

The summer is going to be crucial. The whole club needs an overhaul for what could be a very difficult season in the Championship.

IMO we need a mass clear out and start again.

Spinning it fully round.
Maybe Downes has questioned the manager and he doesn’t like it.

1 win v Ipswich in his tenure.

This sort of thing is sadly inevitable in losing teams.

At pub team level, players simply find something else to do on their Sunday mornings.

At professional level, egos and players' agents are in the mix.

Downes was great for us last season, he could again be next season.

I would hate for us to sell him to Ipswich in the summer and then it comes back to bite us next season.

On current form the game against Bournemouth could be the ultimate embarrassment that triggers something resembling a reaction by the supporters.
A heavy defeat doesn’t bear thinking about but wouldn’t be surprising.

I have been dreading the Boscombe game for weeks.

It's the Saints-can't-do-centre-halves thing again: Ever since Puel ignored the Uruguyan chap in favour of Stephens, the recruitment and selection decisions around this vital position have been strange, and I see that another neglected Saints CB (Danso) is now at Spurs after a good couple of seasons in France.
What I find really strange is that when Juric arrived he cited Bella-K as one of the players he thought should be playing who hadn't been (the other was Sulemana); but two months later he's playing fullbacks and MF's instead of him, including leaving him on the bench during a game when we lost two CB's. I am really puzzled by this. Anybody ITK?
I suspect that Juric has discovered a Sunderland-2020-type discipline problem and he's struggling to impose his will on the group. The first thing a manager will do in that situation is to play those who are committed, and drop those who are not - even if it means fielding a weaker side. I think we should let him get on with it as anything else means we're sucking-up to players who don't want to be on the South Coast.
I also think having Franny as a coach might remind a few of these mercenaries that they are in fact working for a club with some sort of history! ;)

It's too easy to say noone could get results with this squad.

Everything Ron said about Juric is correct. He was an uninspiring appointment and his results have been consistent with that.

Why assume that he isn't any part of the ongoing problem? Just because SR are clowns and the squad is weak, does not mean the manager gets a free pass.

I'm not saying that Juric is not part of the problem, but he's on a hiding to nothing (& so would any other coaches be) trying to get results with a bunch of non committed, inadequate players.
With the exception of Ramsdale & possibly Fernández none of the other players would get regular games at any other Premier lge club.
Some would struggle to get regular games in the Championship.
It's without any doubt the worst squad of players that I can personally remember playing for the club.
Sad to say that under the ownership of SR our Club has lost its identity & it's credibility & we're about to lose our Premiership status again.
I've got fed up with saying it, SR are not interested in winning football matches for our club as long as their group of investments are making money.
