Van Nistelrooy Signs For Leicester
at 15:50 2 Dec 2024

As many suspected, Saints look as if they'll privileged enough to keep the tactical genius that is Russell Martin for the next three years. I'll be a long, painful, haul boys and girls and SR seem intent on continuing the torture of the fan base. I'll get my coat.

Can We List All the Examples of Genius Martin 'Football' Against Liverpool
at 23:14 25 Nov 2024

1. Forever etched in my mind: a Liverpool player lobbing the ball over towards the right-hand, back post and Fraser, at left back and jumping but being too small to head the ball out, with Salah there waiting calmly to receive the ball.

2. Big Paul playing defensive-midfield roamer across the halfway line and in his own half. Bloke deserves a medal for that lot. We'll probably never see him again.

3. The tippy-tappy Keystone Cops/ Benny Hill debacle for their first goal.

Dead right it's on you Rusty but that means sd all, doesn't it?

Leicester Sack Cooper.
at 16:37 24 Nov 2024

Now that's positive action - not exactly sure it's warranted though. They should appoint a really talented, genius manager, like Russell Martin, versed in possession football.

Desperate times etc but not playing Archer is just plain stupid. Good luck to the big man - hope he has a good game. God, Fraser as well.

Following Man City 's Style is Fundamentally Flawed and Must stop Now
at 11:33 20 Nov 2024

I had a look ( long delayed through sheer resignation, I know) at the Premier League's own statistics - to finally cement most of what most of us know and I'm no professional statistician- I saw the following 'hard facts'.

In 'Passes Backward' we were second in the league table to Man City (MC).

For 'Long Passes' we were third from bottom while MC were second to bottom ( Dr Tottenham were bottom).

For 'Total Passes' we were second with 5,961 while MC were top with (substantially more which also says something) with 7,057.

These three categories, in conjunction with the obvious one's like points, goals scored and goals conceded, are the clearest indicators of Saints disastrous tactics and strategies.

We're also 4th from bottom for crosses - that's to be expected - but that's no absolute indicator of failure because Liverpool are a place below us.

So the conclusion has to be that playing like MC, without the players to do the job effectively, will lead to failure rather than success.

Not massively complicated science but a common sense analysis - that Saints management have apparently, and incredibly, ignored this, thus are complicit in damaging the club ( along with other reasons we're beginning to understand) rather than acting in it's interests. And the Saints fans are the guardians or last barrier to failure.

Many fans have seen this for a long time and are correct in their criticisms - despite all the apologists, naysayers, ostriches and lackies (who have made a quiet and steady turn around, as usual) and club propaganda.

Change needs to come now otherwise there's no knowing how far Saints will slip and the damage it will cause. The fans are in the worst position than anyone in management or club because they invest so much individually but having next to no say in the sham/debacle happening in front of their eyes. We should be challenging the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford; not slipping ever further behind them.

Doctor Tottenham at Ipswich's Service
at 15:11 10 Nov 2024

Ipswich lead 2-0 at half-time. Ipswich : 2 chances 2 goals. How do Tottenham do it? I haven't seen them play lately but have been shocked by the terrible passing in the last third and their final ball. To add to that Szmodics scores with n overhead kick. I kept saying buy the bloke in the summer, but would anybody listen? Can't wait for the second-half !!

Total Saints Pod Talking Pony and Trap
at 13:24 4 Nov 2024

Not often and a a decent Saints pod but when they implied that Saints won and indeed the goal scored on Saturday was down to Russell Martin's style of play, the fauning to 'official SFC' takes the biscuit, among other things. The goal had absolutely nothing to do with Martin it was purely down to professionals doing their job. And frankly, the players ignored any nonsense imposed by Martin. If they'd have played as instructed, we certainly wouldn't have scored. That's unless Martin has now discovered playing through the lines at speed. If so, very much I'm looking forward to similar in the future. I won't hold my breath though.

VAR and the 'authorities' favour money bags Man City yet again - Clear Bias?
at 17:42 20 Oct 2024

By watching countless replays of the incident (although it was fairly obvious because the linesman raised his flag for offside), Silva clearly obstructed Sa and hence it was either offside or a foul.

It seemed fairly obvious to anyone with clear vision and a clear head but not apparently by pathetic officials who only see pound/dollar signs in front of their eyes.

How many times have teams had goals wiped out for similar actions? I'd like to know. I know Saints have countless times and usually against the Big Boys.

If you think about the inverse: whenever have Saints had a goal given, then reviewed and then confirmed and given - I'd say probably never - I can't remember one.

Just another example of how incredibly unfair and biased football has become and how increasingly obvious it is. They might as well hand City the title now.
