Italy v Wales : Euros Matchday Thread 15:12 - Jun 17 with 8093 views | NotLoyal | It’s the last game of the Group A qualifiers and Wales play away again, this time in Rome against Italy. The Azzurri are flying higher than the Aeronautica Militare over a soft target on a Tuesday morning. The reversal of any vehicle especially a stereotypical Alfa Romeo won’t stop this game going ahead. Greenpeace haven’t any grudges against Mark Drakeford as far as we know and Mario Draghi continues to excel at being a ‘right’ banker. Italy v Wales Group A Sunday 20th June 2021 Kick off 5pm Olympic Stadium, Rome Officials TBA Italy won their first two games against Switzerland and Turkey 3-0. They are the first country to qualify for the last sixteen of this years Euros. Wales have drawn against Switzerland and beat Turkey 2-0. The latter a convincing and exciting display of attacking football. If Wales avoid defeat they will qualify in second place for the last sixteen, if they win, they win the group, if they are defeated and Switzerland win the Swiss have to turn around a five goal difference. It isn’t over yet. As you know Swansea Independent is an educational website encouraging learning at all levels. By the time you have finished this Matchday thread you will know the entire Italian sign language alphabet. There you go. It’s not all stereotypes though, we’ve said this before, Birmingham in that England is named after spaghetti, and has a series of roads named after it. There are some rough neighbourhoods in Italy, these are called Spaghetto’s, talking of which - in Napoli a few years ago the police were ‘right’ pizza tossers. The currency in Italy is now the euro which replaced the pasta note in about 1996 or before. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/55198/italy-v-wales-“w To follow!

Bale should have buried that, Page is way out of his depth?

Well there is a possibility third place will not get us through to the next round the way things are going.

Italy v Wales : Euros Matchday Thread on 18:59 - Jun 20 with 885 views | jackrabbit | A very creditable result by Wales’s 10 men against a vastly superior football team with vastly superior players. Before that game I had declared that “if we can keep it to 2-0 it’ll be a good result.” We surpassed that, so very well done! Job done, we’ve made it to Amsterdam! Having said that, I doubt we’ll go much further. But,.... enjoy the moment. [Post edited 20 Jun 2021 19:01]

Italy v Wales : Euros Matchday Thread on 19:02 - Jun 20 with 863 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | We were fortunate Mancini saw it as an opportunity to let the Italian second string get some minutes in the competition and wasn't determined to score as many goals as they could. If I was a Swiss supporter I would be very angry. Alas, Wales are through which is a tremendous achievement. Hopefully someone close to John Hartson has a chat with him this evening.

Agree on the play. It could have been 3 or 4. But their fouls were cynical, they knew what they were doing, and the ref turned a blind eye.

Looking like it will either be finland or russia so I think we have a good chance of progressing JR, today's game will have done them the world of good, those are nowhere near as good.
Italy v Wales : Euros Matchday Thread on 19:06 - Jun 20 with 852 views | trampie | Great achievement by Wales, if it's Wales v Finland or Russia, I don't want to tempt fate but I expect Wales to win and then potentially a quarter final against the Dutch, didn't Turkey put 4 past them recently and we beat Turkey 2-0 in this tournament, a run deep into the competition is possible.

Wales v Denmark for me? Wouldn't be surprised if Denmark beat Russia and Belgium will beat Finland...

It's my fear, I think the same as you, I don't want us playing Denmark as I think they should beat us, the one saving grace from a football point of view is Erikson won't be playing.

Decent review that - very average overall performance but excellent achievement to finish 2nd in this Group. Defensively ok but lucky that Italy weren’t fully wound up, that said Bale should have equalised - hopefully he is saving his goals for Amsterdam!
