I'm pretty indifferent to this weather to be honest, it is what it is and all that. Quite enjoyed slip sliding around on my walk to Aldershot station this morning through the local park, sound tracked by Faith No More's latest opus. And credit where credit is due, didn't think for a second South Western Railway would be able to sustain any sort of service this week to transport me to and from my Ivory Tower here in the beating heart of the financial district. Thus far they have though. Great days. BUT Jesus Christ nailed to a sh1thouse NO HEATING on the 7.04 this morning!! What's the matter with these tit rifles? I'm still farkin cold now as they then re-routed us via Ascot taking 2 hours, it's usually a 45 minute journey. Very unlikely that you know a village West of Montpellier called Le Pouget (south of Gignac), but I spent a wild summer there in 1985 working on a tiny medieval house in the heart of the village. Nearly 20 years later I worked in Montpellier briefly as a writer working with a computer game studio. Beautiful city and part of the world. My friend still has the house in Le Pouget. Nice to be reminded of it. This thread is like a psychogeographical tour of Rangers fans! |

Yes, here most people used chains to get out of the village.
The problems on the roads yesterday and last night have been because yesterday the forecast was snow in the morning and rain in the afternoon, so people left to work thinking they'd be OK, without snow tires or chains. Countless have slept in town and still struggle to get back today.
On the motorway it's mostly foreign lorries who couldn't read the message boards asking lorries to stop and then got stuck, preventing the gritters to go through and trapping thousands of people | | | |

I play monday nights. Used to be at the sports center but now play at Goals in Winnersh. Just wondered if you play there. Seen a couple of lads playing on the other pitch with QPR shirts on.

The difference is that of rear wheel drive, front wheel drive, AWD or four wheel drive. The countries where drivers opt for rear wheel are at a severe disadvantage in snow or ice. Guess what the preferred choice is in Britain? | |

I'm still at bloody work in Washington DC. Day 10. Tomorrow will be Day 11 and I'm supposed to be able to escape the Land of the Free at 10.20 pm local time. Not that I'm counting or anything.
The only problem being that flights out to Heathrow today have been cancelled because of the snow in the UK.
And tomorrows's flights out to Canada have already been cancelled due to the storm due to hit here in the next few hours.
