Don't need to tell you DD as you've seen it all before but perhaps most worrying is he's far from alone. It may not be 1994 anymore but the alcoholism and general depravity is still prevalent in this ivory tower. I plan my drinks in advance these days with my colleagues and run away when it gets out of hand! Rock n fackin roll reinsurance indeed.
In other news I've just bought a house which according to Mrs SF will require the removal of 2 internal walls, the installation of another one and yes, you guessed it some bi-folding doors. We had about 2cm in Bracknell and the issue was not the snow, it was the local council's ongoing mission to make my house the Berkshire equivalent of Juneau, Alaska, i.e. not accessible by road.

The nights skies are a great though - like you, we couldn't quite believe seeing that many stars when we moved down this way.

Very unlikely that you know a village West of Montpellier called Le Pouget (south of Gignac), but I spent a wild summer there in 1985 working on a tiny medieval house in the heart of the village. Nearly 20 years later I worked in Montpellier briefly as a writer working with a computer game studio. Beautiful city and part of the world. My friend still has the house in Le Pouget. They have just laid a brand new pitch and it's bloody lovely... Last night was quite tough work and playing in minus 4 / snow was not easy but properly fun and only went over on my arse a few times... | |

Just back from a ski trip to Bulgaria. Over Sunday/Monday we had three feet of snow in the town and more on the mountain.
Everything cleared efficiently, every piste, chairlift, gondola,road & shop open.
Parked cars completely buried.
We had to push our transfer bus out of snow a couple of times though on the way to the airport
