Now, I realise I'm probably the only one on here that likes Bossa Nova. However, she was one of the first ladies to have that breathy vocal style. She had a worldwide smash hit with Girl From Ipanema apparently, they say as she was the only lady in her circle that could sing it in English. With of course that lovely accent.

Probably her best moment imo. Always makes me misty eyed. First bought an album of hers at the age of 21, unusual for a disco loving dork. God speed Astrud.

I too , love bossa, samba and Brazilian music in general. Fantastic to play on guitar with lovely chord progressions. Check out Joyce Moreno. Astrid Gilberto will be missed

No great fan of the bossa nova, but this is way out there. True that she had never sung before but she was at the recording studios to support her husband and they wanted to re-record "the girl from Ipanema"in English and she was the only person present who spoke English. The rest, as they say, is history. Iconic song, apparently one of the most recorded ever. RIP Astrud

I never knew that. One of my favourite voices and proof that you don’t need lungs like Whitney to be a great singer.

Thanks for the tip on Joyce. I've just bought 2 of her albums on Amazon. I'm particularly looking forward to the album of jazz standards. Bossa Nova is a guitarist's music with its lovely descending chord progressions. I like every sort of music apart from current pop. If you're a big record collector, you tend to think you're an expert but then somebody comes up with someone like Joyce Moreno.

Summer evening listening - discovered this guy a few years ago, Arthur Verocai. He had a self titled album which crashed and burned in Brazil in 1972. Bit of a cult following now. Not a great voice, music composition a bit of a mishmash, but I find it endearing and very listenable. I think anyone serious about Brazilian music should give Arthur a try.

It's not working because LFW can't handle links to embedded YouTube videos, or the channel name in the link.
So you can't cut and paste just anything from YouTube. In some cases you have to edit the YouTube link.
Your link is: https://www.youtube.com/embed/f405ijzPp_w&ab_channel=illustrated-music (note the words 'embed' and 'ab_channel' in there).
LFW can only handle YouTube links in the www.youtube.com/watch?v= format.
You have to fish out the part of the link that uniquely identifies the video, in this case: f405ijzPp_w
So change your link to the following line, removing the space between // and www: https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=f405ijzPp_w
I have left a space in the line above between https:// and www.youtube.com/watch?v=f405ijzPp_w so the line displays as text and not as a YouTube video, so remove the space in the line above.
I did report this a while ago:
Site Improvement Suggestions by TacticalR3 Dec 2020 12:21 LFW can only handle YouTube links in the old watch?v= format, but YouTube is now appending the user's channel after the v= part of the url e.g.
old style default url: watch?v=MQ7CETEJ8fA
new style default url: watch?v=MQ7CETEJ8fA&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=BertrandVDM
This means that when you cut and paste a YouTube link, it will no longer work automatically. YouTube links still work on LFW, but you have to remove everything including and after the &.

I find that if you click on the ‘Share’ button under the Youtube video and ‘Copy’, it gives you the correct link address most of the time.

I now have two Joyce Moreno CDs from Amazon, and it's a big thumbs up from me - I intend to buy all her albums. I file my CDs/vinyl by genre and was looking through the Bossa section and found a long forgotten item. A CD of Bossa Nova versions of Carpenters’ songs that I bought from a charity shop for, I think, 50p. It's pretty awful apart from a wonderful throwaway version of Goodbye To Love. It's called Bossa Now no.5 currently unavailable through Amazon or ebay.
