I’ve been looking back at old programmes, and trying to fill in some gaps for games I was at, but can’t find the programme. I think I have a recollection of a Friday night game at Cambridge - a win no less, kick started with one of the earliest goals in a game I’ve ever seen - from Lyndon Simmonds. But when I search for the programme on websites or for records of the game, it all shows as being Saturday 21st November.... Can anyone help, or recall if this fixture was indeed changed to a Friday night game? Every chance it’s the memory playing tricks - but thought it worth asking and throwing out there.

Cambridge always used to play a few Friday night games. It was switched around the time of the fixtures release.
Didn’t a few clubs play Friday nights around that era TVOS?
Tranmere did to attract Liverpool and Everton fans (also to make it awkward for away teams) but I am pretty sure Peterborough did as well as Torquay. Might not have been every game but I seem to recall us drawing 2 all at posh with Dave Cole getting the equaliser.
That would have been around 91/92 as I was ringing clubcall from the local pub pay phone, which did not recognise premium numbers!

As well as Soccerbase, this isn’t a bad site for going through games against a particular club.

Stockport County in the "Go GO GO with County" days used to play on Friday nights to attract the City and United fans - seem to recall it worked pretty well too. I also recall George Best playing for them on a Friday night and the Saturday papers being full of it.

There was a band who supported Tranmere at that time called Half Man Half Biscuit & they tried to schedule gigs so that they didn't play Friday nights where possible
Very good live band, better than watching Tranmere

Don't need much excuse to play the Referee's Alphabet by them :-)
