Colby Bishop toasted his two-goal show that sent Pompey soaring to their first League One win of the season - but admitted the sweltering heat was not much fun.
'It was disgusting out there! It was a sweaty one, but sometimes you have to push yourself to the limits when your body doesn’t want to go there," he told the club website.
'The first goal was a bit of a scramble in the box and I just had to make sure that I got beyond my man. I was supposed to be running across the front post, but actually forgot about that — and I’m glad that I did!
'Before the game I got told that I would be the one taking penalties and thankfully I was able to put it away. The fans were singing my name and that’s pretty special for me when I think about where I’ve come from. Hopefully they’ll keep singing it.
'Once you get on a run, you just want to keep it going, so I’m just looking to crack on with so many games coming up. I can’t complain and if you’d have offered me four from four at the start of the season, I’d have snatched your hand off.
'A win and a clean sheet is excellent, but now it’s all about the recovery because there’s another big game on Tuesday.'
Cambridge visit Fratton on Tuesday with Bishop almost certain to start but Joe Pigott and Dane Scarlett competing to join him up front.
