Fulham After Harrison Reed

Fulham are reported as being in line to sign Harrison Reed on a deadline day deal according to the media.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from several Championship clubs including Blackburn with whom he spent last season on loan, but Fulham are currently leading the chase to sign him, with Scott Parker keen to strengthen his midfield options before the transfer deadline.

Reed is a very good player at Championship level and he’s got plenty of experience in that division having spent the past two seasons on loan firstly at Norwich and then at Blackburn.

A popular player amongst Saints supporters despite having played relatively few games for the club, he probably isn’t going to get much of a chance for Saints in the Premier League this season if he stayed, so now might finally be the time for him to leave St Mary’s on a permanent deal.

Fulham would be a good fit for him in that being one of the promotion favourites he could make a swift return to the Premier league, although it has been almost 2 1/2 years since his last appearance in a Saints shirt and with only 6 starts and another 11 as sub during his time at the club it is probably fair to say he is not going to make the breakthrough at St Mary's and needs to move.
