A lot of the loudest voices tend to go quiet when the team is doing well.
Excellent performance today. The entertainment value is significantly improved and three clean sheets on the bounce after the way we started the year is hugely pleasing.
For me Sheehan is getting the performances that these players were always capable of out of them as opposed to having them playing beyond themselves, but letting them play their natural games instead of trying to squeeze them into some idiotic system is paying dividends for him.
I can't imagine that many people are missing Grimes either. |
Totally refreshing to watch players who given licence to play show just what they're capable of Not for a moment was that an easy game but the first half we made them look so ordinary just at times it felt like it.
This just goes to show how negative Williams was ,I wasn't expecting much today hopefully a draw at best but one of the football we played today was a joy to watch , a decent crowd as well which helped to rise the noise levels . |  |

I think I said (as soon as he left) I wouldn;t miss him. I was rounded on by a few people for saying he was part of the problem. There is no pleasure in being right there. With Grimes and Williams gone, with Sheehan and O'brien replacing them, it's been a breath of fresh air.
Lets be honest, Grimes leaving was the best thing all around. Williams going was just an essential requirement because he couldn't run the proverbial bath.

It makes a difference not taking regular risks in the defensive third. Giving players simpler roles and freeing up the attacking play by shifting the ball forward quicker has made a big difference. |  |

Didn't watch it as i am at work, so I can't comment.
I go off the people on my WhatsApp group as they are very knowledgeable and are rational in the views.

Totally different mindset, kept the shape in the midfield, forwards for the most part only pressing when the midfield was back in shape and when player playing down the spine of the team pushed up someone filled the gap left behind to ensure teams didn't walk the ball through our midfield or counter attack with the ease they had previously under Martin and Williams.

Another good performance from the boys, hard to believe this is the same group of players that Williams had to work with.
Sheehan has shown what can be done with them and also Vipotnik can play if given the service,he was great today as were most of the team,we’ve probably played more forward passes in the last 3 games than all the previous ones,goes to show how much Grimes was holding us back and slowing us down.
Key still gives me shivers,he seems to make bad decisions and mistakes in the worst possible positions ,putting us under pressure or messing up attacks,I don’t think he’s good enough and needs to be replaced if we are to build a solid team .Tymon has improved defensively though so let’s hope that continues. | | | |

Was Grimes playing the way the managers wanted? I can only assume so otherwise he would have been dropped.
Could he do a job further forward even as a number 10? Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't matter he's part of our past, not our future.
O'Brien and Franco are doing a fantastic job where it really matters. We need to be offering Franco an improved contract now. O'Brien I believe is out of our price bracket and replacing him will not be easy as he is proven at this level. | | | |
