Given the number of big time charlie players at the club, and the fact that many will probably still be there next season, the manager is going to have to be someone who can assert their authority over this bunch and not be undermined. It's a difficult ask, but I think it has to be someone who either has had a successful managerial stint and/or was a successful player. Mark Hughes anyone?
Why would anyone come to us? especially Poyet (regardless of what division Brighton are in next season)
money, a chance to build something, a chance for promotion, plenty of reasons to come to us. I very much doubt Poyet would come as he has built a good squad at Brighton and I think they'll go up but just think he should be the kind of manager we look at
Any one that does not have a Bertiie Big Bollox Spurs, Arsenal, Man City, Chelscum or a Man U connection would be fine. Anyone who loves the hoops such as Ainsworth, Ollie, Freedman, Gallen would be good. Some one who can back up what's left of the Championship team plus the odd good buy, and can show Boswanka, Bothroyd, SWP, Ferdinand, Granero, Cesar and the other mercenaries the door. We have to start all over again to get it right next time.
Why does it feel like R'SWiPe is still on the books? Yer Couldn't Make It Up.Well Done Me!
As said, not a lot of talent about. I wouldn't say no to Holloway, the place needs some pride and fun injected back into it first and foremost. Poyet, probably wouldn't come but seems to sniff around every job that comes up at the moment so perhaps thinks he's done as much as he can at Brighton. Great appointment if we could manage it. Karl Robinson, promising young manager but is this a job for somebody so inexperienced? I wouldn't be too unhappy if he got the job. Rosler - to endear ourselves further to Brentford? Martin Allen ?????
More than likely to be an absolute field day for the agents. Expect to see Vialli, Reidy Reid and all sorts of chumps being linked with it.
Cotterill would not be a good choice at all IMO, but I've said all season the only reason he's here is because he thinks there'll be a sniff of a job at the end of the season.
I'll throw a name in the hat for you, the man Fernandes had lined up for West Ham when he was trying to buy them and he's done well in the Championship this season plus a big name.... Zola

Type of manager, yes.
But, these are managers who have built from the lower leagues etc.
We've a squad full of splits, has beens and those that don't care. That's not a plaster, that's a complete plastic surgery job.
Any money isn't the answer. We cannot and should not keep thinking that throwing money at it, is the answer. It's not.
Let's get rid of some and work with what we've got.
look back to olly and us. He chose to play long ball 'clothes and press football.' Only when he went to Blackpool did he show courage to have faith in his players and go against the grain and play attractive possession football which ultimately led to promotion. Good football can be winning football too.

Hmmmm, he seems to have it pretty well set at Watford. "Here's nine quality players from our much better foreign teams on loan, see what you can do with that Gianfranco" in a league where the second placed team plays Alex Bruce as a holding midfielder!
And isn't that our achilles heel? It's a vicious circle.
If we / TF are going that route then it's stupid and plain wrong. It will end in admin / tears.
if they don't throw money at it we could just as easily end in admin/tears. Not an easy choice to make and not as easy as just stopping the spending if we want to get back in 1 or 2 years

If and it's a big IF (likely) HR is off then we probably need someone overseas.
We have that structure in place where the chairman buys whomever he wants.
So, get a Di canio (as in Gigi) type manager and let him coach whilst getting rid of a fair few obvious players.
I really fear if we go for Olly, it'll go pear shaped.
Every team and club will be out for us big time next season. Not because we're a bigger club, but because we've got the money and jealous breeds hatred. We need someone in charge with very big, broad shoulders.
Can't wait to see the back of that crooked f*cker. Should never EVER have been appointed.
If we are looking long term, which we should be no matter how long it takes to get the onfield side right, I don't honestly believe there is a British manager out there who is right for the job. We need someone who can command the respect of some of the "names" we will undoubtedly still have around, and someone who can implement a QPR "style" of football, which hopefully be a little more attractive than the one up front, give it to Adel dross of this season.
Can't say I have any idea of who that might be tbh.

Well we are a family club..no clothes was never going to be an option.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
On the positive side, his signings have been good. Townsend, Remy, and Samba have all come in and done exactly what we hoped. Compare 'arry's signings to Hughes and there is no contest.
On the man-management side 'arry has been a complete disaster. He has spent the whole time talking down players, saying how poor the squad is, highlighting the has/has not split. Just a disaster.
Team selection has been horrible. He has tinkered and tampered, apparently never knowing what he has or who to play. Just when Adel starting playing well, he was sent back to the bench.
Substitutions have been awful too. How many games have you been clenching your teeth thinking "this is obviously not working, when is he going to make a change?" Yesterday he brought on Fabio, when we clearly needed more firepower up front. On what planet do you think, "who should I take off ... Granero? ... MBia? ... Jenas? ... Bothroyd ? ... no I've got it I'll take off Taarabt, our most explosive and dangerous player!" Then with 2 minutes to go he brings on Jamie. What da fck!!!
Overall, I think Harry has been a load of rubbish and is not worth the money he is on. I hate the idea of another change of manager and all the disruption that causes, but he has had plenty of time to prove himself and all he is really good at are press conferences and excuses.

Everybody has to learn and develop . In manager terms he is young .
First person to mention Curbishley or O Neill ... 12 Months ban IMO
Depends which O'Neill you're getting. Bouncy, enthusiastic, infectious, positive successful O'Neill? Or the miserable, down in the mouth, depressed, lifeless shell of a manager that has just been sacked from Sunderland.
Curbishley - who can tell? Certainly doesn't inspire me, been out for a long time, didn't set the world on fire with a lot of money at West Ham, always comes across as very dour.
It's a job for somebody that's going to throw themselves at it 24/7, there's a lot to do here. Neither really give the impression they have the energy for that ny more do they?
all that is left is to manage arrys exit strategy...you know, so NOTHING is his fault etc
if it is not in the next few days, it will be by xmas, like we keep telling you
Never a day goes by when I don't thank the Lord that we have all these Southampton fans around so they can keep coming on here and stating the bleedin fckin obvious as if it had never occurred to the QPR fans. Thank you Lenny for your eye-opening post, it's nothing short of a fcking revelation.
