Friday 80's Music appreciation thread 00:17 - Nov 15 with 6382 viewsFredManRave

Late 70's can be included as well and at a push early 90's and "Music" can only be of the alternative rock, hard rock, indie rock, new wave, 2 tone, ska, mod revival, post punk, punk rock, psychedlic rock and neo psycedelia variety.

Absolutely no Pop allowed.

I'll start off with a song I heard very recently for the first time in ages and it reminded me of what a great song, anthem and pissed karaoke song it was/is.

Colin, much as an 18/9 yr old I enjoyed 'The Crossing', Steeltown is undoubtedly the better album.
'Where The Rose Is Sown' is THE definitive November 11th song of the modern era, well coupled with the heartfelt 'Come Back To Me' that follows.
It's a shame that you are not on the Donnie coach as better 'Minds and L42 tunes are likely to be aired. (ie earlier ones.)

Someone put up 'Gun Law' by 'The Kane Gang'. Great song.

Better get this thread back on track before LBlock posts some Rick Astley although I will admit to seeing Transvision Vamp at Brixton Academy in '91.

So I'll beef it up a bit with some New Model Army. Fave track from the quality Ghost of Cain album;

They're back touring. Clogs out.

How about The Cult? Listen to 'Rain' or 'Fire Woman' and wonder if Kasabian are guilty of lifting?

THE ULTIMATE EIGHTIES TUNE!

Saw them in Glasgow Barrowlands in, I guess, 1983.

Pretty mental gig. Lots of skinheads doing chicken dancing, rolling round in broken glass and bleeding profusely. And that was before KJ had even come on.

Intense.

Great choice Bluce.
