He wasn't born here,he doesn't live here and he'll probably never live here again. He'll probably get a knighthood now though a bit like Sir Mick Jagger who left Britain in the seventies to avoid paying tax. It would be seriously interesting to know how tax Farrah pays.

Mo Farah on 13:44 - Aug 17 with 4977 views | Lord_Bony | He was brought up here and lived here. His wife and kids are british but he spends a lot of time in the U.S.training. Like many celebs I suppose he lives a big part abroad for tax reasons. But that aside you cannot deny he is one of the greatest British athletes ever.

Is it because if he paid more tax he would be destitute?

Considering he got paid quarter of a million for running half of the London marathon then probably no. He pays a fair amount of tax to the Uk but he lives a lot of time in the Us like lots of pop stars, actors, business people etc.

Mo Farah on 14:12 - Aug 17 with 4948 views | Dr_Winston | I love how the automatic assumption is that Farah lives abroad for tax purposes. He moved there a couple of years before the Olympics. How much do you think a distance runner without any major titles to his name makes in a year? There are probably posters on this board who earn more. His coach lives in the US. His training partner lives in the US. Farah chose to join them to improve his chances of winning. Seems to have worked.

When he retires, probably yeah. Read what I posted properly before you try to be a smartarse Dazzler. He moved abroad long before he started earning that kind of cash. If you think he was earning a couple of million a year before the Olympics then you're as dull as Oldjack. [Post edited 17 Aug 2013 14:39]

I haven't said any of that mun. He's currently earning a lot of money and he probably isn't paying tax on most of it,I didn't say he moved abroad for tax reasons.

Oh right. You only mentioned him in the same post as Mick Jagger and tax just to stretch the conversation out. If he spends most of his time in the US he'll be paying tax there, but I'd imagine he has a clever accountant who will minimise the amount he pays.

Well I'm sure you agree he doesn't deserve a knighthood anyway.
