Christ, that's beyond dreadful. A genuine club legend, a hell of a player and a serious pro.

Mick Harford, Mark Hughes and many others can finally relax. No more listening for the thundering hooves behind them.

Rest easy yourself, big man. You'll live on forever in the Bush.

A true legend, always remember Mark Hughes saying he was his toughest opponent, says all you need to know about the type of man he was on the pitch. RIP

I'm on holiday at the moment and a friend has just texted me the news. I'm shocked stunned no words can describe how I'm feeing right now to be honest. I knew macca well drunk and smoked with him in the railway Greenford most sat nights got vocal abuse from him on sainsburys most Sunday mornings with a hey willy being shouted across the cold meats and milk area as I struggled to hold down the previous nights session . Truelly gutted at the moment you could never meet a more genuine guy professional footballer and all round nice bloke

RIP macca a good mate and proper footballer
