Build up and match thread AFC Wimbledon on 17:23 - Oct 5 by fitzochris | Fans who don’t care less about boardroom issues get themselves a Bury. And what a pathetically limp attitude to our on-the-field fortunes. Hope there are three worst teams than us? Awful. PS we played one of them today. And lost. [Post edited 5 Oct 2019 17:25]

So if fans don’t like what’s gone on behind the scenes what are you gonna do about it? The Bury debacle has still not unravelled fully and it may well never do so..plenty of smoke and mirrors re the financial shenanigans ..any parallels drawn between boardroom situations at Gigg and Spotland are nonsense.. There are no signs as yet that we will be anything more than a bottom half team in this league..of course I hope that we will do better..but for now .....

Who had the final decision on acquiring these guys though? I bet it wasn't Brian!

I think the point is we as fans do care and will question decisions made and will do something about it, we will question decisions made and what is going on, we will contact the trust and the club, we will question why such a loyal and generally competent chairman such as CD left the club, we will question why DB is not widely liked and supported (from what I hear), we will question why we have more goalkeepers than fit defenders and why we have 1 player that scores more goals than all our other forwards put together. As fans and customers, it is out right to question what is going on and raise this with the appropriate people, and demand answers. What we won’t do is turn up at the chairman’s house, slag his family off, believe everything we are told or have expectations way above our station. I have posted previously that this season has looked to be a cost cutting season, if this is because of the whole bURY and Bolton situation and the board seeing it as avoid 2 relegation places, or if contracts are killing us financially so BBM has his hands tied (eg Andrew, Done, Lillis will be costing us around 400k a year or 1600 season tickets!) or if paying Keith and Beech off has cost us a lot, maybe the United game will mean BBM is given some funds in January, I don’t know, so I would ask someone who does - our board!!!

It is an excellent post..however I think you may find that any answers you do get ..and there won’t be many..will be bland almost bordering on non answers...any private issues within the boardroom will remain within the boardroom unless one of the incumbents involved makes a public statement..and I can’t see that happening. Everything else is the usual forum board fake news. It’s happened move on ..I’d guess that a run of good results would divert the focus elsewhere. It’s a tough old season ahead the players we have are doing their best let’s just encourage them as much as poss.. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Build up and match thread AFC Wimbledon on 19:04 - Oct 5 with 3414 views | NorthernDale | What worries me is that next week, we will not have RND and Matherson due to them being called up for International duties, so if O'Connell and McNulty are not match fit, I would wonder what the defence may be. I have wondered why we did not sign another CD, when we let Delaney go out on loan, which may be due to inexperience on BBM part, but in truth we are at least 2 players short. We have wasted a wage on signing Lynch, when we should be at least be using Lillis, which is down to poor man management.

His choice not to use Lillis may not in fact be purely down to poor man management... it may have been THE perfect time to sign Lynch and one he's been waiting for, regardless of who we currently had on the books, he obviously has plans to move Josh on but that never materialised, not convinced that's down to BBM though
Build up and match thread AFC Wimbledon on 19:47 - Oct 5 with 3256 views | Shun | I go to every home game and the majority of northern away games. I’d say apart from the über-loyals who travel far and wide that I fall into the same category of most fans. That means that most of us haven’t seen a league win since the opening day of the season. That’s pretty depressing. Regarding Delaney, I’m assuming there’s a recall clause. Regardless of how little he fits into our style of play, he’s still a defender. And he’s currently a defender who’s helping one of our rivals. Even if he plays a couple of games until EOC and McNulty are fit again and then sits on the bench until January, bring him back to weaken Wimbledon at the very least!

Build up and match thread AFC Wimbledon on 17:38 - Oct 5 by 442Dale | What a strange game. Deserved to lose for the shocking first half yet should have got a point or better with all those second half chances. Henderson should have the matchball, he missed his easiest chance, though his performance was probably his best so far this season; somehow he looked sharper despite being forced to start from the bench! We really cannot carry on with these defensive limitations though, players have to come in through the door in the next week. Someone with more patience can trawl through those available, because there has to be someone who can do a job. |
Hendo's second a bit of a curiosity. https://www.skysports.com/football/wimbledon-vs-rochdale/410032

Build up and match thread AFC Wimbledon on 21:18 - Oct 5 with 2974 views | jonahwhereru | Just one comment on the squad. Sacking Hill & Beech was always going to comprise our leverage in the summer window. As a result the squad lacks quality and quantity. Now the game. Have seen the match today and Southend. We didn’t turn up for 25 minutes in one and 35 this afternoon. That’s an hour of football I am owed. With makeshift centre half’s we needed to be on it from the first whistle, but weren’t. Morley was decent at Southend but an absolute passenger today. Was really surprised he can out for the second half. Camps was decent in all parts of the pitch as was Rathbone. When Williams went to CH and Jimmy was push forward we were better. Ryan coming on also had a positive impact.Dont get me wrong we didn’t deserve anything from the game, but we could have won it. We scored two had one disallowed, Tavers produced a great save from their keeper. Henderson missed a sitter and Rathbone hit the inside of the post. That tells me Wimbledon are in trouble as we were better than them when we woke up. Spoke to Mr Andrew senior and he confirmed this was his first ever game as a CH. he can’t be blamed for this he did his best in a alien role. We do need a spark now, but more importantly no more injuries. IMost important member of the team at the moment is the physio. For what it’s worth had Camps a MOM.

To be fair to Andrew he played a lovely weighted ball to the opposition for their second goal, why if in doubt defenders don't just wallop into the stand anymore is still very much a mystery to me. Too many bullshit coaching courses telling folk how to try and reinvent the wheel

quite right Its the European creation of the "footballing centre half"....you do see them at the highest level..but at his level..just clear the damn thing!!
Build up and match thread AFC Wimbledon on 11:29 - Oct 7 with 1786 views | ParkinsGimp | Think this game has proven , we have no use for Calvin Andrew, we must rid ourselves of this useless article as soon as possible, spend a wage on a decent player. We are crying out for a goal scoring centre forward. Hendo cant keep being relied on. BBM hands seem tied, lets hope we have something in Jan and we are in a decent position to still push on.
