Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 13:43 - Jun 19 with 3821 views | leedsdale | Can play out wide or up front, he is pretty quick and certainly works hard. He can be frustrating at times as he follows up an amazing piece of skill with a shot that hits the corner flag. Oh, and dont expect too many goals from him, dont think he has scored more than 7 or 8 per season since being in England. EDIT: Here's the Tranmere story, until our OS catches up.... http://www.tranmererovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10365~2816168,00.html [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

I didnt hear the crowd singing anybody elses name quite as loud as him. and if you read the board, fans were pretty high on him. So yes i would say so.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:00 - Jun 19 with 3694 views | D_Dale | Inevitably, opinions differ - see the "JLAA" thread (IMO, TalkingSutty gets it about right). He's had four full seasons in this country, 143 league and cup appearances, 20 goals (shouldn't you be looking for a proper striker? Last season I think your leading scorer did little better than Dale's). Two seasons at Grimsby, left when the fishy folk were relegated. Two seasons at Dale; left after we were relegated. Two year deal at Prenton Park? See you in L2 in 2014.
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:04 - Jun 19 with 3666 views | Syke_Dale | Impact substitution at best. If there's ten/fifteen minutes to go and you're looking for a goal, then perhaps, maybe, proabably, likely, sometimes, occaisionally (pick one of 'em) he's the man to get it. He'll run around like a headless chicken, bamboozle the opposition defence (& his team mates) And either slam one in the top corner from twenty-five yards or fall over his own feet. A 'trier' if you will.... That's about it. Hope this clears things up.
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:10 - Jun 19 with 3637 views | electricblue | Rather have David Ball TBH....

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:10 - Jun 19 with 3632 views | fitzochris | I would suggest this means we're in the market for another striker? I can't imagine Grimes will be hanging around either once/if another club shows an interest.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:37 - Jun 19 with 3525 views | D_Alien | Makes a change for one of ours to be moving Scouse-wards! Other than that, thanks for a couple of great memories JLAA and best of luck. What else is there to say - the lad's a professional footballer so he's always going to try and improve his prospects - there'd be something wrong with him if he didn't!

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:38 - Jun 19 with 3524 views | D_Dale | Hey, tranmere1234, I see you've also signed Ben Burgess to partner JLAA. When did he last score double-figure league goals in a season? (Clue: before 2003-04). I hope Ronnie knows what he's doing

Maybe JLAA is still on his way home from the Wirral and/or in no hurry to inform Dale that he's off. The OS wouldn't be able to make an annopuncement, presumably, until it's official. When it does come up, I wonder what the phrasing will be about Akpa Akpro's time at Spotland: when Nicky Adams went "thanks for your efforts" seemed rather lukewarm.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 14:54 - Jun 19 with 3456 views | SuddenLad | I will remember JLAA for two things. A fantastic strike against Huddersfield Town in a 3 - 0 victory and the fastest goal (11 seconds) in Dale's history, against Peterborough. The ball was in the back of the Posh net before Fergie Junior had spat out his gum and taken his hands out of his pockets. Other than that, his overall contribution was more frustration than anything else, though it has to be said that he was never short of graft and effort. There were times towards the back end of last season when he was the only positive in a few dire team performances, but he is eminently replaceable. Losing JLAA isn't the same seismic shock that losing COG was, so I look forward to a replacement who can find the 'onion bag' with more regularity. Merci pour les souvenirs JLAA et bonne chance.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 15:26 - Jun 19 with 3335 views | sandylaner1 | dat goal against Huddersfield at home :' ) he's an equally enjoyable and frustrating player to watch but i'm sad to see him go. in a group (not team) for the majority of last season he stood out at always giving 100% effort.

Personally, could never understand how much Bell and Coleman rated him. Quick and direct but quite raw. Reading the comments over the past few weeks, it seemed we were breaking the bank to keep him - good player but not worth throwing loads of cash at. I also think Bell's comments on the OS saying he owed us something was unfair - what does he owe us?! He's chosen to stay in League one, not for the money. Good luck to him, would have been a decent player at league 2 level, but I'm not totally gutted to see him go.
