am i the only dale fan who finds it strange that keith hill is yet again having a go at supporters in todays observer.? hes saying their is no energy from the fans and tuesdays attendance was poor. may i remind mr hill that in december he commented that the club was in a strong financial postion and that he was happy with his squad and no player would be sold to anyone especially a team in our division. so when january comes around we sell our leading scorer matt done to our promotion rival sheff utd . before tuesdays game we had lost 4 out of 6 since dones departure . so mr hill before you start berating the fans for dwindling attendances and lack of atmosphere inside spotland please look at your own actions........

Just take hillys comments with the biggest pinch of salt you can find.

Ignore even or treat as the ramblings of a mad genius!!

Enjoy the best side we have had in ages and get behind the lads today.

Hopeful hilly can turn his comment around come 5pm.

Win and a decent home crowd in full voice would do me.

Justanillusion how do you know KH has a 10% interest in the selling of players. It has never been proved at all. There really are some strange comments on here from time to time, however it's nice to see the usual Rochdale moaning. Why does everyone have to pick over KH's words? He is our teams manager not a literary scholar. Everyone seems to put their own spin on things to suit their own point of view.

try the fact that the done deal was good for all parties apart from dale fans who dont even get too know how much we sell for....dunphy and hill playing GOD again...

It's an unfortunate truth that, actually, neither Mr Dunphy nor any other board members are obliged to disclose confidential information to fans.
It might seem bad PR on their part to keep quiet about it, especially given all the earlier pronouncements about not needing to sell, but if Done's contract enabled SU (or anyone else with the right money) to come in, then Rochdale simply would not have the chance of preventing the sale.

Contract law tends to trump supporter's preferences.

Bazzanne ...I haven't seen his contract but the accepted consensus amongst Daleys I speak to is Hill gets a 10% cut.
How do you know he doesn't?

...people 'pick over KH's words' because so often your average Dale supporting fan, who turns up through thick and thin gets offended by them......they will all be attending games at Spotland long after King Keith has gone!

Reflecting on the selling of Done you fail to mention also Keith Hills vested interest of receiving a 10% cut of any transfer fee agreed.

If this is the deal he has with the club then so be it. Are you suggesting that this is more important to him than anything else at the club? More important than keeping players? He is judged on his results, which from where I am sitting have been excellent.

You may not agree with the 'cut clause' if it is reality, and I can accept that, but to suggest that this gets in the way of the bigger picture I don't think is true. In actual fact its a novel way of having a performance related bonus scheme!

Havent read it, but this sort of thing is becoming all to familiar with Hill. I sometimes feel if he wasn't so successful we wouldn't put up with the disastrous PA garbage he spouts, slating the fans is becoming all to apparent with him, and is disgusting to read. How dare he tell the fans, who spend their hard earned money, on what to expect, sit down, don't have any expectations and just be glad i'm here to save you from 18th place in l2.

Life is a game of fate.

Speaking as an outsider these days I totally respect Keith Hill's achievements at the club, without doubt the most successful manager ever at Spotland by a fair old margin. Having said that he definitely doesn't set out to win any popularity contests on a personal level. He's the proverbial " cause trouble in an empty house " type character.

Forgot that this was an absolute fact.

Mere speculation and not something you can use as a point in an argument.

I've got the gist of it from someone who has, and frankly I don't need to have read this particular article to get the general idea of what was said, 'cause let's face it, it's not sommat we haven't heard before from Hill.

Agree, if he can bring the players through and it helps us pay his wage then it suits everybody. Without that sort of agreement we would probably be priced out of his wage demands.

I am interested about how he comments on the fans today.

Seemed a lot louder than normal - sandy and TDS.

Not going to bother looking at Dale Player tonight because I don't want anything to take away from enjoying today's win or the players efforts. In fact I think I will knock Dale Player on the head because it winds me up.

Makes it laughable when people back up their point with "if the managers happy with seliing Done then i am"
I bet the prospect of an additional 40 odd grand bonus must have made the decision nearly impossible

I think his expectations of the crowd are way too high. He needs to have more realistic expectations. It was a good turn out today but the manager seems to expect 6000 to show up.

In the Hill quotes in the BBC report, no mention of the fans, but he does say: "I'm energised with what I see everyday but sometimes I do get tired. I'm energised with the fact I've got a free week now."

Does he mean this "energised" stuff, or is he having a laugh at some of the posters on this forum?

And if he's got a free week, who is preparing the players for the next match?

Me too, I regret listening to that interview after the Crewe game - I'm not bothering again, will just watch the matches and let the results speak for themselves.

No. Listen to his post match interview, he's really upbeat, especially with Andy Cannon. His match assessment is spot on, he doesn't mention the fans once, but he did say we have yet to make our L1 status secure, which we do.

Poll: Who do you think bury should appoint as their next manager?

Ditto. I kept looking at him to see if he would acknowledge the support the fans were giving, but nothing doing!!

Not sure why you have omitted the main stand, though - i can't speak for other areas but certainly the section I sit in are always supportive - next but one from the tunnel towards the Sandy. Even when things go wrong, very few are moany and most either say nothing or shout their support. The subs also get plenty of support when they are running up and down the touchline.

Is it a case of Keith's constant comments being counterproductive - give a dog a bad name, etc. - or will his drip drip have a positive effect? As you say, let's see if he has anything to say this week.

He gave the TDS a wave in response to the request, it could have been a two fingered one though
