Even at £15 m I would imagine the new owners would be reluctant to let him go. He has played a huge part in keeping us up in the Premier league the last 5 years and is a proven captain who has the respect of the players (and yes gets away with murder sometimes). We have a good solid team now that has played a lot together and gels well. It seems at last they want to keep it that way for the foreseeable future instead of gambling on a roller coaster ride with lots of new players. The number one goal is to keep us up and cut back costs. The amount of money coming in to the club especially TV rights the coming season would say keep him here at all costs. Its simply not worth the risk selling the captain of Swansea and Wales. We would be mad to.

...and risk losing a footballing CH who could be our long term solution... I'm not entirely convinced. I understand and appreciate your argument but I think that £15m will be too much to turn down.

Agree, we need him to stay, so tell Everton to get lost.

Ashley Williams on 06:05 - Aug 4 with 1452 views | Tummer_from_Texas | Ash is this first real referendum on Levien and Kaplan for me. Forget what happens with strikers. I mean it's an issue that is as serious as a heart attack, but our success or failure solving it isn't completely in the Americans' hands. They need takers for their offers. The fates of Ash and Andre, however, are. Ash is under contract, period. If he REALLY wants to leave, force him to put in a transfer request. If he just kinda wants to leave for a chance with the perceived big boys, tough sh1t. He will get over it and keep earning his excellent pay check from SCFC. But if he really wants to leave, and he goes for less than 1/3 of Everton's Stones income, we have the lower female body parts men love running this club. And don't give me that "he deserves his chance" IT'S FUQUINE EVERTON. Our neighbours on that disappointing table at the end of last season. I hope our new owners pass the litmus test. We shall see. I think not. Let's not get sentimental about players. It only harms the future development of the club. 15 million would be well spent on a younger replacement I'm sure. Ash's wages are massive too.

He played every minute of 14-15 1st 37 fixtures and was amazing in memorable places like Southampton. But pretty good almost everywhere else too. Plenty of POTY talk on a 56 point team. Past year he made a few more mistakes. And scored a couple goals. Big ones in a bad year. All the while not giving a whole lot of indication he's slowing down. I was only further convinced in France, when he broke his arm off, rubbed dirt on in and told them to f off at the end of a historic moment in Welsh history. Dude aint 31 in human years.

He's 32 in a few weeks. We need to cash in and replace him. For parts of last season he was nowhere near his best and I didn't think he had a great Euros either. Not sure how long he will be justifying his massive wages.
Ashley Williams on 07:23 - Aug 4 with 1230 views | phact0rri | had a little peek over at the everton forums. apparently ITK over there say the initial bid was 8M +2M add ons, and they've tabled the second offer as of this evening with 10M + 2m add ons. Not sure if this is enough for our captain. Course its all heresay at the moment. For me, if we don't have a replacement ready to be hired (and sorry I don't know if I rate Amat at the level of Ash), I don't know if this feels like a good decision.

Ashley Williams on 07:35 - Aug 4 with 1163 views | Tummer_from_Texas | Y'all know what they got for Stones. And Ash and .750 net profit is a sound idea. For another bottom half club that fired its manager, only at the END of the season. This is baffling. [Post edited 4 Aug 2016 7:36]
