Shocking level of ineptitude. We're making Johnson look like Dennis Lillee

Three innings on two pitches like that and not to pass 200 is just plain criminal.

The bowling this mornng looked equally as inept but when the batsmen have left you 400 behind you really have no chance

Root and Pietersen's shots to get themselves out in the morning were ridiculous. Carberry's was as well, but at least he'd scored 60 before doing it.

Aye - because averaging almost 50 as an opening batsman without a helmet in a very long test career meant he was sh1t scared of fast bowling...

Is Root the next Bell? Husain and Warne were incredibly positive about him.

Mitchell Johnson has been superb.

What a strange statement played 108 tests a quarter of them where against the Windies with an average of 46 only played more test v the Aussies which included Lillee and Thomson who used to bowl quite fast mind

well that didn't take long for the Aussies to clear up the last 4 wickets today - nor the other 36 England have lost in the first 2 tests - what has happened to the English batting?

FAO Stuart Broad.

I guess it was around the time I was playing for Swansea Schoolboys that I learnt that, if you've pulled/hooked a fast bowler for 4/6, that he's going to come in next ball and pop it up to tempt your fevered ego into going for it again in the hope of getting you out.

It's a shame you've seemingly got to this stage of your career before you realised this; you utter utter clunge.

Swinging for 6s in the first over of the day...honest.to.f*ck.

If you line up both teams 1-11 and compare on current form to pick the best, I can't find a single England player better than the Aussie counterpart
Surely based on that statistic there is no way back

Cook (and England) are in the last chance saloon. In 2005 Vaughan struggled then made a ton in the 3rd Test. I would like to see Cook do this but I fear another failure from him and that will be that.

Still there's an optimist in me that thinks we can win the next 3 Tests. It isnt over quite just yet!

Innit. Schoolboy stuff.

Putting a man at deep backward square and then bowling a yorker is another sucker punch. Not needed against Broad though; probably too subtle. The massive f*cking tw@t.

The next test is at the WACA which is a very fast wicket and Mitchell Johnson's home ground.

God help England.

Up until recently Steve Smith was batting at 7 & just being picked as he was keen in the field
Fair play he's developed into a decent batsman

Big knock needed from Cook, I'm really looking at him to lead by example in this Test and get all the "experts" in the commentary box off his back. Blofeld is getting annoying now on the Radio, time to pension him off or get Yewtree onto him......

From the utter f*ckwit who thought Boycott was scared of fast bowling and the Aussies selected someone for their fielding.

You really are utterly f*cking clueless.
