Ashes Winter thread 22:31 - Nov 6 with 47523 views | newgolddream | Australia all-rounder Shane Watson faces a battle to be fit for the first Ashes Test in Brisbane on 21 November. The 32-year-old sustained a hamstring injury while bowling in Australia's final one-day international against India last Saturday.

Fair play to Johnson and Harris they are bowling magnificently and Clarke is setting attacking fields we can't score from, England have been outclassed in every area this winter

Well Cook has certainly been "out-captained" by Clarke this series. Absolutely shocking. He constantly looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights. I'm beginning to think the tests we've won under him have been in spite of rather than because of his captaincy.

Ashes Winter thread on 00:38 - Jan 4 with 1272 views | ted_hendrix | Those Aussies fought us tooth and nail back last Summer when we won 3-0, how have we reacted to being under the cosh? by being like little suckling pigs squealing "ooh don't hit me with the ball" What a bunch of embarrassing lame ducks, as long as they look good wearing their fcking designer sun glasses that's all that matters to these pricks. I said well done to the Aussies earlier in this thread and I stand by that. They've smashed us to bits and that includes the England backroom staff all 5000 of the useless bastards.

Ashes Winter thread on 02:07 - Jan 4 with 1233 views | ozranger | Looks like lunch is the best thing that could have happened to this team - 5/61.. yeesh! I assume they are eating the shredded tatters of the upper order. To Dave, Aussies never use the follow-on. They always bat their second inns.
Ashes Winter thread on 02:17 - Jan 4 with 1226 views | stowmarketrange | Why would they enforce the follow-on? Its a big charity day tomorrow, and the Aussies want to make sure they pile on the misery to our so called batsmen.

We a new coach or a coach at all. A motivator like Boof. P*** off Gooch, Flower and all the other poor excuses for coaches. Might as well call get that Piers bloke to open the batting. For the first time in my life I couldn't watch the England innings and I lived through some dire team over my 68 years. I felt truly sick to the stomach, and I have never ever felt that before. Root got lucky getting dropped, the is the last one I would have dropped, at least he has youth on his side. [Post edited 4 Jan 2014 11:37]

He's got to be replaced, the scars of this dreadful tour will take a long time to heal. His lack of positive decision making has been evident for a while continually taking the safe option rather than being proactive. Even his ability to bat has been severely affected by the added pressure of captaincy. This team is Finished and needs replacing starting with the captain.

Totally agree Cook's got to go. His lack of leadership skills are all too evident. We've won in spite of and not because of him previously. I'd keep him as a player for now though. As for the others I'd stick with: Root, Stokes, Broad, Anderson. Carberry, Bairstow, Bresnan; not good enough, never will be. Long service thanks but goodbye to Pietersen, Bell, Prior and Panesar So that's pretty much half a team we need to find. [Post edited 4 Jan 2014 16:04]

Ashes Winter thread on 14:22 - Jan 4 with 1041 views | derbyhoop | End of the tour cannot come soon enough. Confidence shot to pieces. Outfought, outthought and outplayed. The only lights have been Broad and Stokes.

The Australians were better than we gave them credit for and but for a few sessions the Ashes tour last summer could have been quite different. The 1st 2 tosses really did it for us this time round followed by a complete collapse in confidence. You sometimes only need one or 2 players to really stand out and win you a test but that never happened for us.
