Well, well.well .. the symptoms of the 'new variant' have, so far, only happened in vaccinated people and they have the same complications as severe vaccine reactions.
Didn't see that one coming did we
How convenient... we don't have to blame the vaccines anymore!!

Awake yet? .........surely you are

It's this simple
We are not treating this seriously and looking for reasons NOT to wear a mask, have a jab or keep distance or go to a club/pub. It 's pitiful.

We have unjabbed footballers ,even now, slobbering all over each other.

Anyone ask themselves why so many football games, for example, are being postponed. Any doubt, watch the players.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Of the 9,000 who are in hospital with covid only 29% are there due to covid. That equates to around 2610 in hospital from the effects of covid out of a population of over 67,000,000.
Hysterical nonsense.

Even if your figures are correct, that’s nearly a third of people in hospital due to covid which means capacity will be down for other people. That number will only increase.

Plus it’s not about a percentage of the population it’s the hospital capacity, minus to nhs staff who are desperately struggling

We have a backlog of other procedures that were put off last 2 years from covid. If hospitalisations rise as they are, this will further delay these , especially if NHS workers take time off for sickness.Once covid is on a section of a ward, that section is out of bounds for other ailments. There could be just 3 covid in a section of 10, yet they can't put non covid in with those. It's not just about raw data it's the complications that come with it

Exactly, I’m glad I’m not the only one that ‘doesn’t understand the figures’. Doctors and nurses in hospitals obviously misunderstand too.

The NHS has had at least a year to do something about proper quarantine procedures, but they are still using the same system as last year. Mixing COVID and non COVID patients in the same hospitals.
The Government has done nothing to help them because they were stupid enough to think that the vaccines would continue to work at peak efficacy.
It was obvious that this winter would be a problem even before Omicron came along.

Where do you suggest they put these people if not in the same hospitals ? They’ve not got the staff to house them somewhere differently. It if wasn’t for the anti maskers, anti vaccine and ‘freedom’ people there would not be such a problem

What quarantine procedures? If you were a bed manager, where would you put suspected covid patients - that is, those that have been tested on admittance, but waiting for results? Would you put them in with positive covid or negative patients? Do you see the dilemma? That's why it's so important to keep the amount of cases down as low as possible. It's not just about those dying or seriously ill, it just clogs up everything.

AFD lives in a fantasyland. There is no space or resource to allow this, without idiot anti-Vaxxera or deniers. Perhaps this was possible in the days of TB and smallpox isolation,
But the choice is more tax or better services.

The only person living in fantasyland is you and the rest of the vaxists.
You of course have a vested interest whereas the rest of them are just programed and completely brainwashed.
The timing of this latest variant is bang on queue for the annual round of sniffles and guess what!! the symptoms of this new variant are exactly the same as those annual round of sniffles.
Back in the day when the world was relatively normal, people would never go to hospital for getting a cold over Christmas and guess what they are not going to hospital this time around even though there has been a name change to omicron.
How about we blame the jab for the lack of hospital visits, see it's working

You really couldn't make it up

You are making it up.

This new variant is much more dangerous than a common cold, while it’s not as bad as the Delta variant it’s on a par with the original Wuhan strain.

Any of you unvaccinated guys out there had any problems with Covid?

One reason is that the vast majority of people have been vaccinated and the majority boosted.

I met my family on Christmas day evening.

Three have now tested positive, me and my wife (boosted in Sept) are fine after another LFT this morning. I was sitting betweeen two of them on a three seater sofa for over 2 hours.

One of those who has tested positive isn't vaccinated and is really rough, the other two haven't had boosters. One of those two received their second dose nearly 10 months ago as she works in care.

Vaccinated and boosted people will get the omicron variant, there's no denying that. They are far less likely to get severely ill though.

Very random isn't it. We are going round in ever decreasing circles.
This is also concerning.

Would take that with a very large pinch at salt. There are some preliminary data that suggest the ratio of unvaccinated to booster is 9 to 1 in ICU. But given the population sizes 90% is hokum

How is me pointing out a deficiency in the NHS made worse by lack of government help "fantasyland"?
Why has the UK rejected all the things that worked in the past, the answer of course is money made worse by government and NHS mismanagement.
What choice did we the tax payers get over the Government blowing 100 billion on HS2 and 20+ billion on a track & trace system that didn't work.

It really isn’t….like the South Africans we’re saying it’s much milder aliken to a heavy cold for most.
I know a few people who have had it from 20 to 80….all ok after 3/4 days. Let’s just hope the virus continues on this trajectory but the most important thing of all is we need to fund the nhs more, more taxes maybe like the frogs do, but we really need to clear the backlog and have a fluid system in place that can cope every winter.

Apparently 90% of hospital patients with covoid are those that have not had the booster, so made up of unvaccinated, first dose only and those who had two doses but their protection reduced.

Seems a simple solution get your booster, get your second dose, get your first dose.

Absolutely. They would rather listen to some fool telling them that the vaccine is a implant so the govt can track their whereabouts. Mad people.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Have any of you looked at France?
I believe they have the sort of controls that you advocate and have a slightly higher vaccination rate than the UK, didn't they ban us from going there?
208,000 cases today.
South Africa, half the vaccinations and a quarter of the cases/100,000 at their peak which has now passed.

Working well isn't it?
