Joey Barton 13:03 - Jun 11 with 7722 views | loftboy | Marseille have turned down the chance to sign him, anyone think he should be given a clean slate and a chance to strengthen our midfield?

Joey Barton on 14:16 - Jun 11 with 1127 views | bosh67 | Whereas he nearly cost us our place in the league on the last day of the previous season, a fit and focussed JB is a very good player and there were numerous times last season where I sat there thinking JB would have held the midfield much tighter than this.

Joey Barton on 14:11 - Jun 11 by Monahoop | 'get his mind right, that's the hard bit'. That's right, focus all the attention on that oil slick Barton and forget about the rest of the team. As if QPR need someone like him around at present. Like he doesn't seek attention wherever he goes or whatever he does. He doesn't give a monkeys about his team mates just so long as he grabs all the limelight. I wish he would just rub some of his hair grease on his foot soles and just slide away as far away as possible. |
That could be Adel you are talking about there.

Well it could be, but it's not. It's about Joey [ too many swear words to mention ]Barton. I loathe him. Adel suffers similar traits agreed, but strangely, I quite like him. At least he is a talented footballer when he wants to be.

Joey Barton on 14:52 - Jun 11 with 1052 views | essextaxiboy | He was a prat but I thought he was harshly treated when you compare his punishment to Terry or Suarrez. I always thought he would be back . He is costing us big money , if no one will match it then we have to use him .

Joey Barton on 14:08 - Jun 11 by Juzzie | Clean slte or no clean slate, he's just not very good. It's as simple as that. He thinks his 62% pass completion rate is good enough for an International call-up. It's not, nowhere near. He needs a reality check. |
Really!? Haven't you seen England play recently? 62% should have him walking into that team. Much higher than any of the current mob seem to be able to manage.

There were numerous times last season where I sat there thinking a runny egg could have held the midfield much tighter than this. But not Our Joey. The guy seriously is dog poo on the pitch, and lots of people seem to be misremebering the fact. Just because pretty much our team was pi$$-poor last season, doesn't mean it would have made Our Kid look any better. He was worse than useless for us, both on the pitch and off it.

i agree | | | |

You misremembered to add "Like, ....." at the beginning. Or should that be 'reverse-end'?
Joey Barton on 16:14 - Jun 11 with 849 views | DylanP | Not excited to be getting back his high wages and high maintanance. However, he is a better midfielder than Granero, Park, or MBia. That clearly isn't saying very much but they are also high paid wasters. Likewise, he would probably be picked before Mackie, Faurlin, Hogan, Derry, or Diakite. As such, having him in the team probably upgrades the midfield -- however depressing the prospect of having him tarnish the club's good name with all his ego-driven rubbish. Perhaps a spell in the Championship will be enough to deflate his ego and maybe that'll be good for him. Who knows? On balance, yes I'd have him back.

i think he did a season in Championship with Newcastle. superior to Park, Granero and Mbia. WTF happend to Diakite? - player most looking forward to seeing lead the midfield after Etihad madness.
