Joey Barton on 16:36 - Jun 11 by DieByYourSide | Thought he said he'd ''never move for money again''? If he's actually a man of his word and not just a rent a quote mercenary w-nker like the rest of them he'll take a pay-cut to secure a move. |
He probably meant to say "never move for less money again".

Joey Barton on 16:28 - Jun 11 by Red_Ranger | i think he did a season in Championship with Newcastle. superior to Park, Granero and Mbia. WTF happend to Diakite? - player most looking forward to seeing lead the midfield after Etihad madness. |
Adel scored 19 goals in our championship winning year and in the 2 years since we have been in the Premier he has played 57 games and scored 7 goals. We can also say Adel did 1 good season in the Championship. Yet with his attitude and sulks ( and transfer requests ) he does not get slated. Lets give JB a chance, whats the worst that can happen..... ( A ) He gets sent off in his 1st game and everyone says i told you so. ( B ) He plays well and surprises everyone.
Joey Barton on 17:05 - Jun 11 with 1245 views | olderR | I just read the interview in TheInsideR with Bircham, Gallen etc. They were talking about the team spirit they had when they were promoted. We would never have that with Barton in the squad. You could get a good team spirit with someone you don't particularly like but not with someone you don't respect.
Joey Barton on 17:19 - Jun 11 with 1225 views | BklynRanger | He'll be back with us, and by October we'll be hearing multiple rumours of problems between him, Redknapp and anyone else with half a brain and eyes in their head. It's a cert.
Joey Barton on 18:11 - Jun 11 with 1164 views | Suffolk | Reading between the lines it sounds to me as though Barton and Marseille are trying to get the club to give him a golden handshake in order to make the deal happen. I hope TF calls his bluff. The move is on if Barton wants it.
Joey Barton on 18:35 - Jun 11 with 1129 views | Jigsore | Will be waiting the inevitable apology from him via Twitter. 'Tony Fernandes is a great chairman and Harry is a great manager, both of whom i've never said a bad word against in my life. This year in France has allowed me to settle down, i'd never harm a fly down. I'm a changed man now [5th time lucky]. Look forward to my paych... playing twice a week for an amazing club who I would never insult. Ever.' just throw the W@nker down a mineshaft, I can't put up with his big=mouthed theatrics

Joey Barton on 19:52 - Jun 11 with 1055 views | derbyhoop | Unless somebody is prepared to take him off our hands, then he remains contracted to QPR for another 2 seasons. Anybody taking him would have the obvious difficulty of paying big wages, even if he were prepared to take a substantial cut. If we have to include him, he is more than capable of making a major contribution at Championship level. He's a better player than most of the alternatives we'd have to pick from. He will do the defensive part of the job but is still capable of getting forward and scoring goals. This time around he'd presumably have more to say to Traore, Mbia, Taarabt, Diakite and Remy - if they could understand the accent. But the downsides are that opposition players will try to wind him up. Probably less successfully than PL ones but there's always a chance they will succeed. He's divisive, he's always likely to explode and he isn't half as good as he thinks he is. From his previous comments he would far rather be part of a Champions League squad with L'OM than a Championship one with QPR. We've got enough players who are not wholly committed to the cause. On balance, I'd like to see him gone and he would prefer to go.

Joey Barton on 20:53 - Jun 11 with 1001 views | queensparker | If there's one thing I want to see next season it's a team of players, all on the same side, backing each other up and fighting for the cause. I'm not that arsed about getting promoted, we just need to purge the club of moneyed Premiership c**tery. I'd take that over promotion with a bunch of bickering, expensive mercenaries because that puts us back to square one, and I don't ever want another season like the last one. Barton fits squarely into scenario two, and so can "fous le camp".
Joey Barton on 21:00 - Jun 11 with 982 views | stansleftfoot | Am I right in thinking the contract has something between £4 and £6 million in it, he's worth possibly a risky £2 million. The trouble is there is no real need for JB to address the issues he brings to any Club he joins, he's a very wealthy man. There is no doubt that in his career he has looked like a real player for short bursts with outstanding performances at Man City and Newcastle. Made Carroll a £30 Million player! The QPR side he played in was so shxte that even working harder than an almost any other Prem 1 midfielder his passing looked dreadful and the actual outcome of his performances was minimal. It all hangs on which Joey Barton turns up on the pitch and whether he can leave all his personalities at home when he turns up. Nobody else wants him unless we pay 75% of his wage, nobody else wants him for the price of his contract. I suspect he's coming back, he is enough of a footballer to do the job for us, the question is whether he has the depth of character to do it. There is no evidence that Joey Barton brings anything good to a Football Club, is it worth the risk? Are Harry or Tony brave enough to make the right decision? sadly, my money is Joey Barton is Club captain with Harry saying he's a great trainer and a triffic player with the support of Tony and PhilB next season.

Joey Barton on 21:44 - Jun 11 with 919 views | Suffolk | Do we really believe that Barton will return? He does not want to come back and I very much doubt the club want him back. If reports are true Marseille were offering him a sizeable wage but less than half that he receives now. The question is how much is TF willing to pay Barton to go.

Why should TF pay him anything to go? Barton has already stated its not about the money, so if that's true he should just f*ck off and go. If it is about the money and he comes back we should have very strict rules in place about his behaviour on and off the pitch which will result in him being fined a month's wages every week, thus reclaiming the ridiculous amounts of dough we've paid him so far.

If money were not an issue we would not be posting on this thread; Barton would be a Marseille player. As for a pay off I agree with you. I also hope TF does not pay him to go. From an economic point of view it may be worth TF sanctioning a pay off in order to make a saving on the remainder of his contract.

You misforget? I too misunremember. He played unworse than the ungood prima donna we have the misfortune of having on our books at the moment. Of course, as un-nobody hasn't not already said, he is mispleasant to have around and causes too much miscalmness int he dressing room. Its a toss up, but if we are going to pay his mis-tiny wages then we should unignore his non-unusefulness on the pitch.

Joey Barton on 08:22 - Jun 12 with 715 views | Suffolk | Quote "Hello and welcome back to the Sky Sports Transfer Centre. Here is some of the early newspaper speculation this Wednesday morning. The Sun claims Joey Barton is after a whopping £3.5million to quit Queens Park Rangers. He wants his loan move to Marseille to become permanent but is demanding some of his QPR contract be paid up." I suspect there is some truth in this. I hope he gets nothing.
