Topps have apparently bought the Euro's Licence for the next two Championships so Panini have been ousted.
I've been collecting all the Panini International tournament albums since 2014 with my son and we have completed them all despite the astronomical price rise in Stickers (Doubled in 10 years).
By all accounts, this years Euro's sticker book is a bit of a dogs dinner. Obviously gone to print before the tournament draw was finally settled so includes half arsed pages of all the teams that made the play offs, so the teams that did eventually qualify through them, don't have an in depth profile like the all earlier qualifying teams. England, France, Germany & Spain are not officially licensed to Topps either so a lot of players are missing and they can't show the official kits or crests. A bit... meh!
The last month has been tough watching her deteriorate while also trying hard to keep her beautiful smile for us.
She was the most dedicated and wonderful mother to me and my older brother. Driving us to Saturday league football in all weather, those winter days where it had been pouring with rain, pitches thick with mud and freezing cold. Mum would be dragging us there in her wellies, armed with a flask of coffee and an old ice cream tub of quartered Oranges for the teams half time refreshments. Sheâd even collect the weekly subs from the other parents. She wasnât a football fan but she was a dedicated mum.
Taking me to QPR was just a step too far for her as we lived in Merton and travelling to The Bush was just never possible, especially as my Brother had chosen Wimbledon. My Dad on his Saturdayâs off would take us to Plough Lane.
My mum did however come back from a school parents evening one time, excited to tell me sheâd met my French teacher who as soon as sheâd mentioned my name, confirmed to her âyes Queens Park Rangers supporterâ and then chatted to her about QPR being a lifelong fan himself. He generously offered to take me to Loftus Road for a match, if she agreed. Cue March 1993 and my first QPR game, a dazzling 3-1 win over Norwich with Les Ferdinand scoring a classic. I never looked back after that. Thanks Flynnbo!
Today is NYE, it feels like the end of the world right now, my heart is broken without her in my life anymore and Iâve hardly slept the last 48 hours and spent many of those at St Georgeâs hospital with my brother. This morning we collected her things and kissed her goodbye for the last time, she was finally free of her pain. For some reason I feel racked with guilt that I couldnât do more for her, spent more time with her in my adult years. She loved us and her two grandkids until the end.
Stuck in the worst traffic I've ever had the misfortune to endure in over 26 years of driving. Manor Road roundabout on A316 next to North Sheen Station. Roadworks causing chaos. Gridlocked, there were Box Junctions to navigate, drivers getting stuck inside, trying their best not to for fear of a ÂŁ60 fine but if you simply didn't take a chance, you weren't ever going to move. There was also a level crossing to risk your life on by trying not to get stuck on it when the traffic edged forwards, about 2 cars worth every 8 minutes. There were arseholes deciding they shouldn't have to wait so over taking the queue while going head to head with oncoming traffic going the other way before trying to force their way back in the queue further up. Roadrage unfolding as they went about it. Cars, vans and trucks bumper to bumber trying to force them back out again. Someone behind me so much so that she rolled into my car, luckily no damage.
Left Molesey at 12pm, arrived in Shepherds Bush at 2:45pm. 12 miles.
Been looking forward to this and I think this year will be a cracker. Ireland, France, Bokke and All Black stand out favourites, I've a suspicion Scotland may throw it open on that side of the draw by getting something out of Ireland or RSA.
Tonight though, what a cracker open with; Hosts France take on The All Blacks. I'm going for the All Blacks to silence the Parisienne crowd. Or they could get pumped. đ¤
Quite harrowing really. Good interview with Gary Neville. I wonder if he really can re-discover his form in football if he has worked through his personal demons. I hope so.
Might as well take an interest, its actually more interesting this season then previous ones with the emergence of Luton, Coventry and Millwall having a go. No Norwich or any of the other Yo-Yo clubs as yet. Hoping West Brom don't sneak in as I'm rather looking forward to them going into a financial mess.
Like to see Coventry go up. Unpopular opinion I know but also think it would be good for football if Luton win the ultimate prize and get in the big time with their hammer and nails stadium.
22 years ago to the day, it doesn't seem possible does it?
I was in Bournemouth on a lads weekend away. No idea why, can't remember the occasion but we were In some bar and my mate got a text message from his mate giving the final scores that afternoon (No smart phones back then). His words to me "QPR lost 2-1 and down". Knew it was coming but I was glad I was half pissed when he said it.
Can he stay and coach that midfield a bit? How we miss someone like him pulling on the hoops. He could teach this current crop a thing or two about putting a shift in and how not to feel sorry for yourself when it's all going to shit. A true legend.
Will any of this stick? Would be funny if the book is thrown at them. No point in a financial penalty, this needs to be a points matter or even relegation.
Seem a bit precious to me, the owner is clearly an idiot but he has spent money, they have a state of the art stadium being built and on schedule but like what happens to a lot of clubs from time to time, their team is sh*t because they've made some terrible transfer decisions over the past 6 years which is finally catching up with them.
I think a dose of Championship football next season will be a reality check for them. Could well end up being the next Leeds United though.
Clearly a League One standard player much like Connor Washington and that Wheeler chap. One of these days we'll get one right but begs the question when QPR are scouting from the division below, what are they looking at in a striker, is it all done on statistics thesedays instead of someone's keen eye for what's required?

Like a South African red me. Stellenrust Cinsault from Waitrose. Magic. I only buy a bottle once in a while mainly because the wife isnt much of a drinker and only likes Rosè.
