Weather's getting me down now. We were promised vineyards, sunflowers, siestas, the lot. I even had to turn the heating on last night - in July! And don't tell me it's all explained by the "man-made climate change" theory, because it bloody well isn't. The mad greenies told us 20 years ago we'd be frying by now, and they were WRONG. So how come we actually have a Government department of "Energy and CLIMATE CHANGE"? Has there ever before been a government department based on a complete myth - like the department for slaying dragons and unicorns, for example?

Who knows it could be a better more stable non human dominated world in the long run.. Human population would be down. higher death rates with the collapse of civilization so less of a human burden on the planet. Ok so your argument is that the sea level will not rise by much (as rapid sea level rise would put us back in the stone age or do you disagree?) if this is the case I'll put this link up (sorry from the same site but atleast it keeps things consistent )

The consensus of 97% is very flakey to say the least.Some of these scientists were not qualified to make a scientific descision on agw plus many on both sides have a vested interest to pursue. Personally I couldn't care less if you believe it, I agree there is plenty of data to raise a concern, but it’s also entirely refutable, and in my view the opposition simply makes more sense. We have about as much control over the sun as we do our imminent death, which may or may not be attributed global warming. Can’t you see how your fears are being exploited for monetary gain? It’s sad to go through life believing everything you are told.

Not all parts of the world will lose, some will gain, but those that lose will lose everything. We are talking about whole regions being uninhabitable - drought or too hot for crops or under water.

Increased levels of CO2 are a RESULT of higher temperature, not the CAUSE of it.
This stuff about 97% of cimate scientists agree is very shaky statistics - the opinions of the climate scientists who don't agree are not included in the IPPC reports.
Please don't believe this, this is simply wrong. I am not picking a fight with you, Gloryhunter, but CO2 definitely, unequivocally causes temperatures to rise, this a chemical fact, and one which I have seen demonstrated in very simple experiments (in a standard kitchen).

Ah the conspiracy theory. These loony lefty green liberals are just making it up.
How exactly are we being exploited? How are the 97% of climate scientists with their heads out of the sand benefiting financially?
After all, fossil fuel companies make no money at all, they are nice, public spirited, not-for-profit outfits.
The UK government's own figures prove that the biggest contributor to the rise in our energy bills is the rising cost of importing gas, but the deniers spread lies about it being renewables.
They bang on about subsidies for, for example, wind turbines, yet fossil fuels are subsidised to simply unbelievable levels:
Then there's energy security: I for one am not looking forward to the UK relying on energy sources beyond our borders but perhaps it's a good thing to be praying that someone in a foreign land keeps their hands away from the stopcock.
