Gets goals from midfield and can open up the best defence with moments of genius. Our first ever England international to be picked whilst playing for Swans. But looks the right time for everyone for him to move on now sadly. Not sure who else is going to get us goals from midfield now? Britton, Cork? Definately not. Possibly Ki who looks to be coming back to his best. |  |

Can't say I'll shed any tears if the Shelvey to Newcastle move comes to pass. Talented kid but there's something seriously lacking in his makeup. The £12m mooted? Snap their hands off.
True they're relegation rivals, but if we want to bring people in we'll have to move some out. Plus, would he really strengthen anyway at the level he's been this season?
There's a couple of others I wouldn't shed any tears at going, but even deadwood is better than nothing .. we'll need to bring replacements, and hopefully they'll help us return to the quality and style of previous seasons. |  |

Perhaps with Shelvey going, someone can remind Ki how he played last season. Remember those late runs in the penalty area and deft finishing?
Don't know if what's happened to him this season is down to management, tactics, or the player himself, but we need the Ki of last season back. Just 4 or 5 goals from him over the rest of the season could be crucial. |  |

All this guy is banging on about is 40 yarders. His long range shots this season have been 40 yards over the bar. If you admire long range shooting then Gylfi's your man.
I'm delighted that he's gone. His attitude has been appalling and must be undermining the whole squad.

As inept as the original poster is, I do have modicum of similar feelings that it is without doubt a shame that such a talented player should, hopefully be leaving the Swans.
To be overly sentimentaly indulgent, however is displaying a complete lack of understanding of who and what Shelvey is.
Many better players before him and many more will come and go, who with their respective clubs, will enter the arena a champion, then over a period of time, leave no alternative other than to move on.
A flawed genius!
Clubs/managers who try to crack this enigma code, historically will always cause more harm than good.
I always feel a tad upset for players who give everything , quite simply though things don't workout for them....e.g. Gomis

I was quite impressed watching him walk about at Palace and again on Sunday even found time to tidy his socks whist Oxford were attacking.
