It’s got that feel about it hasn’t it? The performances, the press conferences, I’m not a body language expert, but that doesn’t seem right either.
Players talking in whispers in corridors on 21:41 - Sep 17 with 3208 views | dobjack2 | Sounds like he feels that he is being undermined by a player or players and that is the reason for our abysmal performance(s). On the other hand it sounds like a player or players have serious concerns about Duff's ability as a manager. If either is true then the decision makers at the club will have a decision to make about who to back.

More like they know a fraud when they see one. We can see it and we don't work with him every day.

Always cheaper to sack a manager rather than remove the non believers in the “group” Personally I’d go for the cheaper option.

Bradley lasted 11 games with 2 wins and 2 draws. Is it fair to compare?

He would have gone sooner if it wasn’t for the Palace result. Cheltenham is a lovely place. Perhaps he should spend more time there. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The term fraud is one which has crept into the fans dictionary in recent times. Martin is being called one, he was called one here, in fact every manager I suspect will have that thrown at them at some point in their career. For me the real issue is the players got used to a manager( Martin ) who massaged them throughout his time at the club, and regardless of any comments to the contrary got them playing, albeit too late. Now, not only has there been a huge shift in playing style there are those who clearly hark back to what they see as the ‘ good old days with Russ’ And therein is the discontent. And the reason for such an obtuse comment. Because it’s clearly fact. And it bugs him to the extent he has now said something.

Could it possibly be that the players are a bit narked off at having to run and run to the point of collapse heat stroke and exhaustion and aren’t doing much work with the ball?

Those pictures of the players collapsed in a heap having been made to run and run said a thousand words. Why would those pictures be even taken let alone released to the media? It’s got the feeling of punishment about it.

They weren’t released to the media 😉

Players talking in whispers in corridors on 00:03 - Sep 18 with 2768 views | JACKMANANDBOY | Three problems for Duff here: 1) Players are unhappy 2) They are not comfortable talking to him 3) The dull tawt is talking about it in public rather than finding a way to get the players on board. He's the manager, people are unhappy, start working with them to clear the air, not talk about them at a press conference. Duff is not up to the job.

Serves Duff right, you have to appreciate what has gone before, value it, build on it and evolve it. Alternatively you can turn up tear everything apart and piss everyone off. [Post edited 18 Sep 2023 0:09]

It wouldn't surprise me after seeing the reaction of Grimes after his touchline talk with Duff. I think it also showed in his performance in the match. I don't see Grimes as a trouble maker and believe he has the club at heart which must then point to his concerns over the coach.

Is Joe's injury down to the training, pictures of which show younger fitter players in distressed condition?

As you get older, you are more prone to injury when putting body under stress. This doesn’t apply to Walsh though .

If that is the case then that alone should have him slung head first out the door. It's not the 1970s anymore.

He signed a new long deal after he had worked with Duff. This suggests a common mission.

No it doesn't. It shows a commitment to the club irrespective of who the manager is. How many managers has Grimes played for and been captain in his time with Swansea. The length of his new contract indicates there will at least be a couple more.

Many players leave because they do not like the manager. Leon Britton for example who did not get on with Sousa. It makes no sense to sign a long term deal for a manager and then undermine him. if the player undermines the manager with the intent of constructively getting him sacked then the player should not be at Swansea. Grims is also captain.

You say captain….in name only. If a captain is an inspirational, motivating ,leadership figure then he most certainly is not . A player we ve been too reliant on for all the wrong reasons . Giving him a new contract is almost as bad as giving one to Naughton . We needed to reset, find a true leader and get the team firing for 90 minutes Being a nice chap and a good trainer doesn’t make one a great player . Ideally, we are carrying Allen ,Walsh and Naughton none of whom will play a significant number of games . Joe seems shot to pieces but at least he was a terrific player unlike Walsh who should have taken up tailoring or origami .
