For some people "supporting their club" is about staying positive and as a consequence shutting down any and all criticism, even when they don't or can't actually disagree with it. There's nothing wrong with optimism and cheering your side on through thick and thin, come what may, but try to accept that other people engage with the sport and their club differently.
It's not an agenda (usually). It's not trolling (usually). Some people like to analyse, criticise and even have a moan. Pessimism about our chances given what we've seen isn't an attack on the club. There are a few posters on here that spend more time telling others they're not "proper fans", or to go watch some other team/sport, than actually talking about football. It's very easy to put a poster you don't like reading on ignore and never see their posts, it's the repetitive arguments that make the forum worse to read for everyone.

Although I wouldn’t call it “pessimistic” as that suggests a belief that the worst will happen. I don’t see many people talking about the future, it’s usually what’s already happened.
In which case it’s simply a realistic view of being 15th and the awful football we played to ensure we didn’t finish any higher.
I’m optimistic of the future, I hope either this manager can sort himself out - or the next one sort it for him. But realistic about what has happened thus far, and it is that which most people are commenting on.

Shows his coaching skills are better than some give him credit for. As for Piroe, Downes and Obafemi - most were sourced by Cooper because he knew that this is the kind of performances they would give. Hats off to them for performing while hamstrung by the horrific tactics Martin employs.
If it was down to his coaching then we wouldn’t have finished 15th and he wouldn’t have finished in the bottom half every single managerial season he’s had a go at.

As for STID he did that once but missed me too much and took me off in a big dramatic affair, then admitted he made a spectacle of it and pretended to be nice, so people wouldn’t call him out over destroying threads again.

However if people actually put others they don’t like reading on ignore instead of talking about it, things would improve greatly.

My expectation is 6th-12th with current squad with a few additions. If we lose Piroe, my expectation will drop to last seasons position. I still can't believe there are no links to right wingbacks/fullbacks.
I want to see less passing around the back, more proactive forward passing even if that means losing 10-15% possession. If in doubt clear the ball into row Z, instead of suicide back passing. I would like to see a huge increase in tempo and actually look to score from the first minute instead of training match exhibition for first 20 mins which poses no threat to opposition's goal. Football is meant to be entertaining, not a snooze fest.
But most importantly I don't want to see repeated stats like last of season of

75% is too much, as you say some of that needs to be sacrificed in order to play further up the pitch and be more attacking.
Our best and most consistent results have come when we have had far less possession because it usually means we are knocking it about too much in unthreatening areas which are extremely dangerous should we lose it.
But Martin would see 75% as success and “dominant” and be confused as to how we didn’t win.
It needs a complete overhaul before more of our star players fall out with him and do their best to leave the club.

You're right - the whole point of a grown-ups forum is to have grown-up discussion, healthy debate and banter.
The Stupid Button - aka the Ignore button is for thickies who are unable to hold grown up discussions with posters they don't agree with. The fact that a few of those thickies love to tell us all how not so clever they are is hilarious.

I think AC scenario is a bigger picture than it seems, high majority of the time he is on when DrP is on, he goes over the top with his praises of DrP..........clearly its one/both trying to be clever but the act stands out like a sore thumb.
Seems so many have them on ignore but twist it to suit themselves........the insecurities are worrying, said it ages ago that the site have a responsibility and I think someone should make an attempt to speak to him and try and see if they can help or atleast talk some sense into him.
