No penetration, no strength totally out muscled in midfield. Why are we playing with one up front at home against Watford"??????. One shot. Bored to tears already, still it could all change next week😂

A poor performance all around, if this is all we have were up the creek. Can't see us scoring very many goals again at this rate, Gabi got no service at all and can't expect to score goals with the likes Boufal who at the moment is wasted space along with JWP. Completely outplayed all over the park, Hoedt look decent enough but overall pathetic.

The club needs a major overhaul. We need to replace all the dead wood that has been allowed to accumulate: Les Reed, Eric Black, Dave Watson, Martin Hunter, Radhi Jaidi, Ross Wilson, James Ward-Prowse, Shane Long, Wesley Hoedt, Florin Gardos, Sofiane Boufal, Jan Bednarek etc. Replacing Jordy Clasie with Mario Lemina was one small step in the right direction and one of the few things we have got right in the last 2 years. Some drastic action in January can still keep us up. Let's hope Mr Gao doesn't have the wool pulled over his eyes by Old Les and takes the necessary action.

OK, Wesley Hoedt needs to be given a bit longer, although I fear for him against one of the better teams like Man United, but the rest should be replace ASAP.

It was a good match to miss and miss it I did thankfully. So no comment other than sheer disappointment on hearing the result.

& to add to my earlier post unfortunately Forster now HAS to be dropped if McCarthy is fit even if to only "shake him"up".

Although they were 2 good strikes today Forster gets beaten way too many times, & too easily, from distance particularly from low shots.

I am a GK myself, albeit I only played at amateur level & now on a Sunday, but even I know where to position myself when expecting a strike from distance, & that is on the edge of your six yard box to narrow the angle, but if you look at Forster's position he is nearly always very close to the goal line & you stand next to no chance of saving a decent strike then.

& for me, if someone like myself with limited ability knows this how does a professional not know this or and have the technique to carry this out?

Newbury, Fraser Forster used to be a very good goalkeeper before Dave Watson got to work on him. Forster deserves achance with a better coach.

PS I'd also add Nathan Remond to my list of dead wood we need to replace but not Forster yet. ALL of our goalkeepers seem to be getting worse under Dave Watson.

This was awful. No clue about tactics. No one was making space and when space did appear for a player no one could make a pass. Watford fought from the start and won every second ball going. Saints resorted very quickly to hoofing it up the field towards a back four of giants who completely snuffed out Gabbiadini. He barely got a touch. Why Saints persist in playing one up front is beyond me. The midfield were running around like headless chickens. One or two players looked almost uninterested. Redmond continues to run himself into dark alleys and then tries to blame everyone else for the fact that he doesn't know what to do with it (shades of Puncheon - lots of talent but poor decision-making). The first goal came out of nowhere and was a cracking strike but the second should have been stopped. He took an age to tee it up and he was miles out - Forster was slow getting down and across. I'm seriously worried about Fraser - he seems to have no confidence - perhaps time to rest him for a bit and get his mojo back as he can be so dominant and impressive. Overall a dreadful performance - the worst I've seen Saints since before League 1. Seems Puel may have been harshly treated after all. I missed a couple of games because of work and because of that I haven't actually seen Saints score at home since February (we lost against West Ham) and Wembley was the last goal I've seen Saints score - March 1. Could be a long season if the lads and the manager don't pick it up soon as confidence will ebb away. Maybe a good time to go to Palace next week. Having said all that, I won't boo.
