What value Cullen ? 19:30 - Dec 14 with 5687 views | KeithHaynes | He’s had a very decent two months, internationally and for the Swans. Today we saw another part of his game with that free kick. He is bastly improved, so should the Swans cash in ?

How come if he's been good lately, scoring goals in a championship side who are struggling to score goals because they don't have a decent striker, still looks like a local league player? Baffling 🤔
What value Cullen ? on 20:57 - Dec 26 with 1231 views | jack247 | This role suits him down to the ground. Times his runs like Routledge, but unlike Routledge, is a decent finisher. He can also see when and where to play teammates through. Created the chance for Vipotnik, plays Tymon through a lot, linked well with Eom who I thought had a superb first half. Not sure if it was a cross or a shot, but he was heavily involved in Francos goal too.

Doubt Bellamy would pick local league players for Wales.

What value Cullen ? on 10:54 - Dec 15 by KeithHaynes | His confidence and ability has changed markedly over the last few months. That coincides with Craig Bellamy taking the Wales job. However, Luke and co must also take the plaudits. Away from the pitch Liam has a settled private life, a new contract and loves being at the club. These are the ingredients that are needed to make his football complete. Clubs will be noticing him, and many won’t be as ‘knowledgable’ as those who have watched Liam for years. For me he has gone from a 600 - 800k footballer to 3m plus in value. His all round game has improved so much in a matter of months, and he is currently a ‘goalscorer’ a commodity rarely found these days. He is in his prime, if a club did come in for him, and I’m certain there will be inquiries next month then we have to push them to their absolute limit. But like Grimes I too agree he doesn’t want to leave and has no intention of doing so. |

What value Cullen ? on 14:51 - Dec 15 by ReslovenSwan1 | £5.5k a year is a whopping £286,000. Rivals like Stoke can always pay more but are £150m+ in debt to their owners. The going rate guarantees bid g debts and possible administration. Fans should not worry about players being paid sustainable wages. Of course to fans sustainable wages means league 1 wages. In an ideal world mid table teams pay sustainable wages and make a small profit for the shareholders like the Trust. |
Stoke owners are the biggest tax-payers in Britain. They are not worried about the debt....more the rules the Championship demand.

Stoke and Swansea are in the same mid table position win no parachutes. They have wasted over £100m+ more than Swansea and no better off. Ince, Woods Allen, Wilmott, Baker , Surridge and many more. They out bid Swansea frequently. [Post edited 26 Dec 22:32]

I've known quite a few pro footballers, it wasn't so hard for Dudley Lewis, Nigel Stevenson, Herbie Williams and plenty of other ex Swans who took jobs with Royal Mail. Speedy, some years later, qualifying as a physio and going into it full time. There were a couple of ex rugby players there too, Paul Arnold did a short stint. Surely takling a job relieves the boredom and gives a sense of purpose? Sitting at home counting their money, is that not very boring and lacking purpose? Sorry but your argument makes no sense.
What value Cullen ? on 20:35 - Dec 27 with 714 views | ncswan | For me, Cullen has made significant progress with his field positioning and his vision of where he needs to be on the field at the right moment. Beautiful goal yesterday but that was a sweet assist from Ronald! And how about that pass from Eom to Cullen that resulted in a shot on goal with Franco scoring on a rebound for his 1st goal. Football like that will get the crowd on their feet! Key's assist wasn't bad either!

The fact is Cullen has never been an out and out number 9, he was playing there earlier in the season because of a shortfall in the squad. He is not a wide player he doesn't possess the required pace. He has always been a "fox in the box" playing at 10 enables him to be creative and attack the space in the box. He is finally being allowed to play in his true position and not cover for the inadequacies in our squad. Play players in their best position and don't be surprised if they shine.

We didn't know it was his best position though because he'd never played there, as far as I am aware. Wasn't he a striker with the U21's? Regardless, he is the most improved player and certainly earning that new contract. I'd say, on current form, he has to be part of the spine of the team, one of the first names on the teamsheet. He has made himself very important to us. PS, I have always said he was never a "lead the line" player, he either needed help up front or a positional change.

Cullen, Grimes and Franco has to be up there with the best midfield in the division.

His positional sense has always been good. He just lacks the physicality to play up front on his own. It’s easier to drift in unmarked like he did yesterday and I think at Plymouth recently from where he’s playing now than at #9. It suits him brilliantly. Agree about the pass from Eom. Some of the interplay between those two was superb.

What value Cullen ? on 10:22 - Dec 28 with 419 views | GVJack | He's improved a lot this season and the Swans are starting to reap the reward for the years of support and development put in to him. He's cheap (contract), so unless a significant bid comes in which allows LW to replace and fund other signings I think he should (and will) stay. As other posters have said, he's a home bird, and loves the club, I've never doubted his motivation and he wears his heart in his sleeve. I don't think he's reached his ceiling yet and can only see him getting better and better over the next 2-3 years. I suspect another contract offer with increased wages will be on the table within the next 12-18 months if he continues to impress. As for Value, I'd put him somewhere in the 6m bracket, and even that would be too low to consider selling at this current time (IMO)

I would question that comment, as I did with regards to Cullen's defensive positioning against Hull in the altered team but would happy to see if it works again against Luton. We have seen this season "one size does not fit all" the difference in performances between first and second half games, game control which swings from one team to another indicating the inability to manage games properly. Until I see that game management applied against the better teams I'm not convinced, obviously the improvement since last seasons drubbing against the top teams is ten fold but conceding the number of goals is not good defending. Scoring as many goals as Spurs is no good if we concede as many as they did against Liverpool.

He looks like he’s starting to adapt now. It’s taken him way too long and even now he’s hardly in the game. Genuinely think we could have a player on our hands if it clicks though.

He can shoot powerfully and accurately with both feet without needing much time or backlit. Granted every other aspect of his game is way below where it should be, but he’s starting to make the right runs and get on the same wavelength as his teammates now. If he gets the rest of his game up to speed, he’ll be a real weapon. If he doesn’t, he’ll be yet another poor signing up front.

Gunter is a poor choice D, he's 35 and well past his best, If he was 22 like vip I'd have him. Btw Slovenia made the euros so they must be a decent pool to pick from 😉
