Groundhog day: It is not about recruitment.
at 11:51 27 Oct 2024

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c4n106r775zt

Six months ago I attended this game and was very disappointed at the lack of movement. Cullen was blotted out and Ronald the only threat. I had high hopes for Williams to build on Martin Ball and add more penetration. It is not going to happen.

Same teams
Same managers
Four new players
Same result
Same late goal
Same mistake
Same goslscorer

Six months player changes no progress.

Harris out thought Williams twice. Rinse and repeat. Easy.

This game was last June. I attended and as very disappointed.

Same teams
same result
6 same players
Even same goslscorer
Similar late goal.

So what does it tell us. It tells me with 4 new young energetic players

Harris has done Williams twice.

Huw plays a towering target man
at 12:07 25 Oct 2024

The centre forward is 6ft 9in and top scorer. People are rewriting history. The great Dutch team of Cruyff, Neeskins and Ari Haan had Dick Naninka up top.

No point having winger if there is no strength in the middle. I recall reading gossip he was of interest to the club 3-4 years back along with Bloxham of Shrewsbury.

Tough day for Bobby Theo and Rio
at 12:14 23 Oct 2024

https://dragonsoccer.co.uk/newsite/index.php?id=999

This was coming after Bulgaria shipped 9 and Wales could only manage a 2-2.against the Bulgars.

Thee young fellows exposed to elite footballers at an early age must be good for them.

It is always tough for Wales and Bulgaria as the talent is spread thin compared to Spain.

Good to see healthy Swansea contribution.

This is normally the status quo which makes the Wales u19 beating Italy 4-3 quite some achievement. Margetson and Woodward.

The next Wayne Routledge. Is there anyone like this?
at 12:31 22 Oct 2024

I must admit I miss Wayne Routledge playing for Swansea. He was a joy to watch and I was always hopeful he could do something special. The winner at Leeds from nowhere, springs to mind.

Swansea do not have a lot of money and the club has gone for young 22 year olds some who are thriving and others struggling to nake an impact.

Wayne despite his prodigious talent could not make an impression either in struggling teams and his talent was released when he joined Swansea at 26 as a lost soul.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Routledge

He was cheap to buy and his wages were not huge. He was behind Sinclair and Dyer in the pecking order. The Laudrup arrived. Boom.

One player in this ilk might be Ben Woodburn. I know of him because he is Welsh but there might be many others who have been grinded into the ground by the EFL who w could be the next Routledge. Eom perhaps?

Swansea young strikers on loan.

It is not a pretty picture.

Maliq Cadogan National league is Payed 10, goals 0 assists 0
Josh Thomas League 2 Played 1, Goals 0 Assists 0.

Josh is fit but does not make the squad while Congreve does.

Mediocrity rules.

Cullen misses another gold plated cross with his head.
at 12:54 20 Oct 2024

I watched Cullen s debut v Palace in the league cup alongside Dan James under Potter. The kids played well. Tyler Reid put in a lovely Cross and it sort of hit Cullen and w ent for a corner. He was18-19.He was a not positioned to head the ball and if fact never looked confident. The ball dribbled for a goal kick.

Only 18 at the time he had a few seasons to develop. Yesterday 7-8 years later Ronald got a cross in and again Cullen was not positioned and got under the ball and again never looked keen to bury it.

Swansea city have never produced a quality centre forward in for the academy or CoE. Cullen is the best over 30 years and millions spent.

If I was Coleman I would be asking the head of academy for an explanation. Mr Wright who I have a lot of respect for has been at the club a long time and can give background.

This is high level games in one of Europe's big leagues. It may seem like picking on him but now there is nowhere to hide. How can a centre forward in the academy for 14 years not be able to head the ball on target from 5 yards?

Kuharevych would have buried that chance.

The whole integrity of the game at stake?
at 17:01 18 Oct 2024

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c0qzxxlxqpeo.amp

This will be interesting. I recall an ex England footballer do something similar and he deflected it by turning it into a Ealing comedy farce with best laid plans going awry. I did not buy it but many did. That case revolved kicking the ball out of play at a predetermined time.

Deliberate bookings for betting fixing could lead to a severe penalty these days if found guilty.

The longest sentence I gave noted was a an ex Cardiff player who was banned for 4 years for drugs test offences after recreational drug use.

Joe Allen is not fit

Called out of retirement and not fit but Williams is fully behind and unfit player going for International duty.

How very odd? It must be a financial thing? Someone posted Joe knows his body. Clearly he does not know it well enough to project fitness to play.

Is this true fantasy football. Perhaps it is another administrative error by the FAW. One is reminded of the hilarious Benson and Hedges skit in Harry Bassett England Manager.

Trump and British weapons
at 12:34 14 Oct 2024

In Ukraine the,UK has sounded out using the Storm Shadow in Russian territory. Challenger Tanks are already rumbling across the Kursk Iandscape.

From what I have read and seen on line it appears UK cannot authorize their use on Russian topsoil without approval of the US President.

Following on from this it could be Europe goes alone in supporting Ukraine after a Trump withdrawal. Clearly he could prevent Ukraine using these weapons anywhere.

Following the logic is worrying as Trump could conceivably hold a control over UK Trident nuclear deterrent. Theoretically he could give Putin assurances the UK deterrent is under his control.

The logic with the flakey behaviour of our US friends which is changing in it demographic profile is for a European military control and independence of US with UK part of a European military.

The UK military have been staunchly against a European military army but things are changing fast with the US president more friendly with Putin than Starmer.

Perhaps a Trump is a big time bluffer. Perhaps Corbyn was right? As a tax payer I see no point in a £100 billion missiles we cannot use with out US permission.

The logic is with MAGA UK has to join a Euro Army

Wales underage teams doing really well.
at 17:41 13 Oct 2024

Wales does not have a big pool of players so when the u16 u17 u19 and u21 players are all involved it becomes a bit of a struggle and our small nation has in the past taken a hiding or two.

However t in this break the highly rated u21 were the only team to struggle due to an inadequate coach in my opinion. There were bad signs before this latest fiasco.

The u16 came second in the victory shield beating Scotland RoI won it.

U17 drew with Portugal and lost late 3-1 to might France.

Hats off to the u19 that drew and beat Italy 3-3 and 4-3 away from home. Some u17 moved up to u19.

These team were shorn of Jordan James Koumas and Crew with the first team . No sign of Iwan Morgan ( ex Swansea )
All the teams were sprinkled with Swansea prospects but not the two linked with Arsenal and Man city

Coleman needs to fight to keep all these prospects. Stop paying old dogs and give it to the pups.

Sky sports have no cahones
at 17:53 12 Oct 2024

When Sky sports presenters with bottom lip quivering and eyes watering in fury over Bulgarian and Hungarian racist yobbos chanting at English footballers remember this event.

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/sky-sports-forced-intervene-after-30119021#c

When they "intervened" they simply muffled the sound when if fact they should have called the Police and identified those engaging in filthy " aggravated racial disorderly conduct".

The English are soft on ethnic slurs including the Dart authorities and Sky sports who are super hypocrites. Only Gerwyn opponents care about this.

Wales u21 determined to not qualify?
at 17:37 11 Oct 2024

Matt Jones and his chums at the FAW have messed up again. This group has never qualified for the finals and this is a great chance.

Matt Jones took off his star player Rubin Colwill away in Denmark while he had the Danes on toast. This does not happen very often for Wales. Wales were 2-1 v nine men. They relaxed and allowed the Danes and equalizer from a corner.

Then Jones dropped Colwill at home and Wales lost 1-2 with Colwill forcing a consolation.

Colwill did not play last time either as Bellamy had him getting splinters for the first team and he did not get a kick. Beck was moved up too.

At least this time he was put with the u21 s for a vital game. A
win should see automatic qualification.

Guess what? An administrative error means neither Colwill nor Beck can play. This should be followed by a sacking of who ever was asleep. This is what they are working for. Shameful treatment of Wales best young players.

I am not impressed with Jones at all. He should give been following the administration chain himself. I n top of that it looks as if Joe Taylor issues switching to Scotland. Jones preferred Josh Thomas but Joe scored 21 goal last season in league 1 and 2.

The Courtney Baker Richardson syndrome.
at 12:56 8 Oct 2024

It seems to me that the club who has already got SIX strikers at Fairwood or out on loan is in a perpetual state of " we are a bit light up top".

From Cooper when he lost Gyorkeres to Martin when he fell out with three forward simultaneously and now Williams trawling the non contract lists.

This is a philosophic issue. Namely the Courtney Baker Richardson syndrome (CBR syndrome)

Potter made the best of a bad job and gave CBR his debut away at Millwall. He promptly got sent off within minutes gloriously flattening two beefy Cockneys. Montero then ripped Millwall apart. Potter was relaxed with his philosophy as he did not suffer from a CBR syndrome. "Stuff happens.

Ollie McB with his frequent illnesses was not reliable and CBR scored 3-4 useful goals as he was very hard on the 6 years box. Potter is a high class operator. He mantra was self improvement. Heading to Man Utd perhaps? Ashworth took him from Swansea to Brighton .

The think tank in Resolven noted the CBR was out of the door within days of Cooper arriving. This was the new philosophy. CBR missed an open goal header in a friendly 6-1 win over Exeter. Borja and OMcB dovetailed beautifully for 15 mins and looked like a marriage made in heaven. The young Swede Asora was ecstatic to score his first SCFC goal. He was a victim of the new philosophy.

Swansea now has forwards who the manager considers as unplayable. The CBR syndrome. CBR was a blunt instrument who did a job after OMcB overdid the gaming and got ill.

Since Potter left Gyorkeres Whittaker Kukharevych Yates Wilson have all suffered from the CBR syndrome and not been used as they are not aesthetically aligned to the Swansea way.

If CBR was good enough for Potter why were these players frozen out?

A non contract player.? What for? Is it a touch of CBRS?.

Something wrong with this team. The opponent scores in 10 seconds and the Ospreys do not score in 80 mins.

The stadium was not right for them perhaps.
