Cabango and Darling. There is no money. Try logic. 19:37 - Sep 27 with 4341 viewsReslovenSwan1

Coleman has a problem. Both Cabango and Darling and Cullen want to stay but there is not enough money around the new cost conscious club.

It appears to me all can stay until the end of the season but there could be bids in The January.

It makes sense to sell one and pay the other two what they want or let Cabango and Cullen walk at the end of the season and pay Darling.

A tricky one for the chairman. I stand to be corrected but both Cullen and Cabango will bring in development fees for the club whereas Darling would not.

If all three cannot be kept happy financially perhaps then it would be better to keep Darling happy and let the local lads walk.

On the other hand Darling would most likely draw a fee in The January to pay the pay rises of the other two. I confess I do not know what the s development fees would be. Swansea has to pay for Key.

Chelase and Man City have been forced to sell the family silver local lads in preference to transfered in players as they are logged as total profit in accountancy terms. A similar outcome for a different model perhaps. ,(Cole Palmer and Connor Gallagher sold way too cheap)

Levien would if he could get a couple of million in for both, its how he works as you know, he's arguably weakened the squad season by season, Coleman it seems would like to see the team progress, but he's trying to do so with one hand tied behind his back.

morning one and all,
for me if the chairman says he is in charge (we all know he is not) and he feels the 3 lads deserve new contracts get it done and show levene and co that you mr chairman are here and you will make the decision for the benifit of the club longterm OR for ever be known as a yes man

Communication isn't the best from hierarchy it's better on married at first sight. What can we do only hope investment is found or Cabango Darling or Cullen could go for peanuts in January. I think one will definitely be sold 2 would be the worst case scenario. We probably get more money for them in the summer but need sell always there and rushed ask Huw Jenkins when he stopped owners selling D James on the cheap to Leeds.

The owners are the guys who control things regardless to what is said by some, they dictate the budget with both wages and fees.
The team is left short with a little budget left, it's done to cut costs and I fully understand that but there is a massive concern given the amount we have brought in over the last 7 years in player sales but yet we still find ourselves in this position.......it cries clear organisation, we have seen this and most notably last summer's absolute clusterfook of a transfer window when we signed 2 right backs even with us already having Naughton on the books and then followed up with signing 3 left backs!

The owners need to be more involved and realise that losing Cabango and Darling especially will cost the club financially and on the playing field.

Blaming chairmen and others employed by the owners will always lead back to the owners, they picked them and they hired them so it always starts from the top down.

Why would any of the players out of contract in June accept a move in January, they will wait for a big payday in the summer, their agents already know what is on the table, see Darling and Bristol City. As for more money in the summer, if we don't give them a new contract and they sign it we would get nothing.

It happens but clubs need to lower their fees, it can be done if a player is intending not to sign a contract and go in a free.......the club selling will see 200k as an example as better than nothing.
There is always a possibility that none of them intend signing a contract with us but I wouldn't say it's 100% the case with 3 of them.

It's currently a shall we do this or that with the need still to strengthen come January or pushing on with contract renewals.....this is where the incompetencey of the owners have left us and it all falls down to their poor planning and organisational skills because they don't involve themselves enough.

Personally my view.

Darling is going and will run his contract down.
Cabango would prefer to stay but will not be messed around and if there is not an acceptable offer on the table soon, he will run his contract down.
Cullen knows there is interest in him but would prefer to stay. He will wait for a new contract and if one doesn't materialise he will reluctantly move on. 100% he knows he can earn more elsewhere.

Players get injured and then the contract offer in the wings is invalid.. They could also get dropped and get stale and lose form. It would be natural to go through the motions" and make the fans angry.

Darling is a committed player. It is within Swansea s scope to match Bristols offer. Many players running down their deals want it settled in January for family reasons.

Darling himself and Manning came at discounted fees in the last year of deals.

In my opinion this is Colemans job and the LLC pay him to sort out a solution. If Levien interfered Coleman would tell him respectfully to " butt out".

Football fans love the " yes man"talk and it is a matter of perception not fact. Birch was not a yes man because of his CV.

There's a couple of big assumptions in there. First Darling....is he really or is he interested in the best pay packet?

Second, Coleman....what Coleman would do is anyone's guess apart from the man himself and maybe his wife. People who tell their boss to butt out need to be in a very strong position and even then can find themselves unemployed.

What evidence do you have that he is not a yes man, try logic, if there is no evidence then best not present it as a fact.

After yesterday's revelation, does Coleman actually make any decisions or is he just treading water until he is told what the future holds. Could this be a reason why these contracts have not been extended at the moment.

If a change is imminent, next couple of weeks, I can see them holding off. Secondly when have the LLC prioritised the club over the funds objectives, I wouldn't expect them to.

Levien and Kaplan are all about making money neither actually give a monkeys chuff about the Swans, remember that Kaplan once said, that whatever happens at Swansea wouldn't affect his life, I hope supporters with sense would say the same about him.

They are very rich successful that care about their assets. If you or I owned the Cleveland Browns NFL club for example and had millions tied up in it you and I would care about it a lot.

They are human beings. If Levien states doing Colemans job Coleman would remind him it is not his responsibility. It is understood that Tan calls the shots at Cardiff. It is not the case at Swansea.

Cabango and Darling are Coleman gig. Selling the club is nothing to do with him.

He has been mugged in this thread. He is actually doing well and the fans want to pull him down a peg or two.

Why have a go at Coleman? His works is staring to bear fruit.

The report is accurate though. Whatever people think.

The evidence is Colemans manner and his words

In the forum he is there and the Trust people are nowhere to be seen. He fronts up.

He says " the buck stops with me". I believe him you and the forum community do not. They do not use professional business speak they talk " yes man". If the club wanted a yes man they would never have employed Birch. Birch worked well and there was no conflict.

Coleman deserves respect. The signs are good .He will not get any respect from here. Perhaps he ought to get a round in at the next away game? .
