Well I don't know, was he going anyway? Have we even offered a new contract? There's been no reports suggesting we have. Laird looks decent but we're 5 games in. So early days. So we haven't paid a fee for Laird?

Are you blind or just plain ignorant?
Piroe has three goals in 4 championship games and 1 in 1 in the cup. So that’s 4 goals scored in 5 games . There are at least (barring injury) 41 more league games apart from the two cup competitions. So it’s feasible he might (even if he doesn’t keep up this strike rate) score another 20 on top.
He’s immeasurably a better player than Lowe will ever be - he’s a threat going forward every time he has the ball in or around the box. His control and link up play are a joy to watch and he chases and harries all game. One of the best natural strikers we’ve had in a long time and only 22 years old so going to get even better.
If you think Lowe is a better player let alone striker than Piroe you’re watching the wrong sport. |  |

Oh dear. Please read my post again. You obviously didn't read the bit where I specified 'league goals'. As impressive as hat tricks against Plymouth in the league cup are, I'd prefer a comparison in terms of what actually matters to us - league points. So I suggest you to back and check those figures under the premise that I actually specified. | |

How many goals did Lowe score before coming here? Was he prolific at Wigan? Not really, it was 6 in 48 games there.
This losing goals stuff, I always wonder why people say it. What Lowe scored last season is irrelevant now, unless he can guarantee at least as many again it's a nonsense phrase. So far this season Piroe has looked the better striker. For large chunks last season Lowe looked like his banjo couldn't find the cows arse! | |
