and he has good experience in taking brown envelopes and driving the coach. And his gob is a fog horn. Seriously James. Are you suggesting that we have to accept third class all of the time. BBM is a young manager but he isn't wet. I am not for throwing the towel in but he has to show he is learning. No no no no and five times no. It was just to highlight how inexperienced our gaffer is and to remind some to cut him some slack. Hence my reply to TVOS that it would probably be more appropriate on another platform. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |

What we need is a few Saturday away fixtures postponed and played on a Tuesday. January is never a good window for permanent signings can only imagine permanent signings from non league and some loanees coming in. Think we'll replace Bola. Be nice to get some more height in the team. A Wilbraham/Calvin type and another Lund style midfielder. The full back situation is a pain as well with McLaughlin we all called it when he re-signed on. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |

Match Thread: Rochdale vs Gillingham on 18:23 - Dec 19 with 2073 views | funkkk | Think the idea that, as long as we stay out of the bottom four, everything will be fine is ridiculous. It's a poor defeatist attitude that saw us wallow in the bottom tier for all those years. Nor can we rely on us keep pulling off the odd win away from home. We seem incapable of putting together a run of results or even performances. Some of the teams below us who've had a poor start will inevitably click at some point, and then we'll be in trouble. My concern is we won't do similar as we never learn from good or bad results/performances. | ![](/images/avatars/1992.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Match Thread: Rochdale vs Gillingham on 20:21 - Dec 19 with 1705 views | EllDale | Whilst I’ve never left Spotland before the full time whistle in over 60 years of watching Dale I’d had enough at halftime today. Switched off the iPad and went shopping with the wife instead. Is it me or did we switch from one extreme to the other today? The slow passing game was changed to a game plan where Jim McNulty launches hopeful punts downfield. Our home performances have been execrable in the main for four years but we’re plumbing new depths this season. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

That’s quite sobering actually. It is indeed 4 seasons of home performances that have been pretty poor in the main. It’s not going to bring supporters back in their droves. | ![](/images/avatars/1212.gif) |

Match Thread: Rochdale vs Gillingham on 21:12 - Dec 19 with 1562 views | 49thseason | Today, we scraped the barrel and put out a team that simply had little chance of competing , it was literally men against boys. A squad might comfortably include 1 or at at the most 2 young kids, the best of the best in the junior ranks. Today was a day for strong men to stand up to a big physical challenge, we simply don't have enough men for that task The squad isn't big enough in both senses of the word , they are too few and too small. But , apparently, this is what we can afford. On the rare occasions we have our best squad available we can produce L1 performances but the reality is that the availability of that "best team" is a 1 in 10 matches phenomenon. Its one thing bringing a single youngster into an established team for occasional games, its something else to pin your faith on lots of youngsters without the experience of 9 or 10 seasoned professionals around them. I doubt BBM expected much more from his team today, thankfully the 3 points on Tuesday cover the cracks to an extent, 35+ points from 28 remaining games 1.25 PPG ? keeping the Goal Difference column in single figures would be good too. | ![](/images/avatars/1190.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Match Thread: Rochdale vs Gillingham on 21:24 - Dec 19 with 1523 views | mikehunt | We have to find a way to play against teams who press us. This will now be known throughout the division. Any team who employs that tactic and we are stuffed. Today our guys often had three men surrounding them. Where was the outlet for a simple pass to cut out three players instantly? Nope, we resort to turning back and directing the ball back towards our goal. Then when someone rushes at us we lump the ball forward - to no one. We didn’t have a target man today. So why employ the tactic? Because we don’t have any other plan? It’s a real worry. Fully fit we have a team that can just about compete but even one missing and we flounder. I fear the worst this season. The nature of our defeats are gutless and clueless. Pains me to say that. And why our home form should be so different when, without crowds, it shouldn’t make a ha’aporth of difference is also beyond me. Like some one has already said, our luck is going to run out very soon and relying on the odd flukey win isn’t going to save us. | ![](/images/avatars/1530.gif) |

If we have Lund, Beesley or both in the team gives us a direct option which we missed today against a team that pressed us. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |
