Ins & Outs + Squad Updates and Transfer links on 11:54 - Sep 4 by Brynmill_Jack | Leon had the advantage of being able to use both feet which gave him much better scope for distribution. Grimes is an easy read because of his over reliance on his left peg. Question - if we sold Grimes and Woods was available from Stoke for 4 million would you take him?? |
100% Woods is a quality player

Yes, decent. Would prefer Allen if available, as CDM to mainly sit, connect the CHs to Ayew, and connect laterally to/from the FBs/WBs - something we've been missing. Rodgers always praised the young Allen on his confidence to be the out-ball and think clearly under pressure.

Ins & Outs + Squad Updates and Transfer links on 08:35 - Sep 4 by 34dfgdf54 | How long has Scott been here? Was reading something that said you won’t see his signings for about three seasons. |
This suggests he is focussing on the 15-16 age bracket for new signing. A good idea incidentally. Potters man has not covered himself in glory for Swansea at least McKay free to go John free to go Celina free to go for a fee Asoro a lot to do to keep his flat in Swansea.

Allen is now too old whereas Woods is young and will have resale value. No contest for me.

Which is far from ideal for us right now. Today against Newport massively highlighted the gaping chasm at Striker. Not sure if Dajaku is still linked (?) but not hearing much about other targets...? (Asoro showed glimpses in his cameo (and is no doubt only renting, albeit on the sea front with the rest of our superstars)

We must be confident in what we have, that now has to include Rodon.

Apologies I only just seen this. Link: https://www.bbc.com/sport/amp/football/53642764 << Scott tends to work several transfer windows in advance, so Swansea's recruitment this summer will be based on significant existing research. Planning ahead meant Brentford "always bought early and sold late", he adds, which allowed them to sell players at inflated prices close to transfer deadlines, having already bought their replacements. While Scott is mindful that transfer strategies are different at every club, some principles remain - 'buy low, sell high' being one of them - and he is looking to expand at Swansea.>>

I'm guessing he's the fella we are expected to sign imminently. Any left back who can't get a game before Bennett at Cardiff I worry about, filling the squad with mediocrity, it reminds me of the final few years in the Premier League

The quality of our loan signings will be down to how Cooper is perceived by other clubs. In fairness players loaned to us seemed to progress in general under him last season. I still think we will get a bit of quality in on loan.

Played v Newport and was training and haven't read any recent gossip. I seem to remember glancing at something a couple of months from the Groningen manager saying he'd like to keep him. I'm not sure where he fits into a Cooper set up. Looking at his stats is interesting - in. the block of 14 games he started for Groningen he scored 3 and assisted 2 for us it was just 2 assists in 14 games (2018/19). Better suited to Eredivisie or just a bit more experienced?
