A big thanks for showing that. Some of my all time favourite players in that clip.
Both Ash and Ante were, and I should add Ash still is, great at his profession. But Ante would stop a train heading for our goal. Ash a great leader, and over the years I noticed how he would protect new young players especially throughout the match.
Yes he may say and put himself about regarding team selection, both him and Ante had strong personalities. Something you need in a captain.
let's cut to the chase, Ante was a outstanding player but at the end of the day it was for one season, Ash has been doing it for season in season out
Ante was also doing it against the best players in Britain. Bar the very elite at Real, Barca etc. Ash is doing it against some of the best players in the world.
I was way too young at the time and have only seen clips of that team, so can't say Ash was better, but it's fair to assume he was up against stiffer opposition.

Thanks for that mate really enjoyed that clip one of my all time fav Swans players and what a game that was. Them Cardiff games were something else in the late 70s early 80s.

I can remember a game against West Brom when Cyrille Regis tried to barge through Ante and he just bounced off him and ended up in the floor with Ante looking down at him with contempt.
He isn't going anywhere, all a load of made up rubbish to fill SSN time.Wenger is known to be frugal do you really think he is going to spend £10M on a 31 year old and most importantly guarantee him a first team place,no way, same with Everton.

We all agree that Ash is a good player, but would the Everton fans feel about selling Stones for £50M, then replacing him with an 32 year old for £10M?

It's a weird one, but from what I saw of Stones last season I'd prefer Ash any time. £50m for Stones is nuts.

I don't think it is possible to be any more overrated than Stones. Every time I have seen him play, he's been dreadful. These days putting your socks over your knees puts £20 million on your value. Crazy

Everton fans don't rate Stones as highly as the English media do. They get to watch him every week (or did before he lost his place).

Someone has been very smart about positioning Stones as a £50M player even though he's nothing special. If someone now buys him for £30M they'll think they got a bargain.
it certainly has legs in it, but as bad and heart wrenching it will be to see him go £10m for a 32 year old makes business sense, if and a big IF it's invested wisely on a younger model
Without any official news from either club or Ash himself, how is this particular report any more reliable than the others Wales Online has been pushing for the last few days?

Probably not. The 'no bids for Ash and Ayew' comments were basically pleas for clubs to make offers though.
