It appears that it is actually the amount that go in on the day and doesn't automatically take in the season ticket holders before hand.

It used to be down the Vetch ( although the figures were skewed by the fiddling going on by some of the turnstile operators ) Not confident that is still the case though ?

I agree. A positive result at Birmingham should see them rise for the next two home games

Its a mess and up to the club what they choose to announce over the tannoy and to the media. For example whose to say they are not even counting the stewards, directors and even the 22 players on the pitch? who certainly don't pay for tickets. Hence unless you have access to the accounts, using such numbers is a bit silly. [Post edited 6 Sep 2022 15:27]

Well I had a bit of a shock today, over 1400 going to Brum and the cost on the bus is £34. Its been a while since I've been by bus, but it seems an ok price So taking in an away day is well over a ton, taking all in, so fans cant keep doing games week in week out. Respect to those who try. COYS.

It should certainly increase now. I’d guess 17,500 in that region in the next game. Then depending what happens in that game, sets the tone for the next.

It was always going to increase when we played Sunderland and Cardiff in the space of three home games. I’d guess they’ll both bring at least 1000 more than the average visiting attendance to date. Beat Cardiff and a few of the part timers should start coming back. At the moment it looks like I’m £100 down at the end of the season, but I’m not writing my money off yet.

Was that last season average for the first six games or the whole season ? The away support for the first six games this season has been pathetic. Hull brought about 200. Awful. A halfway decent away support would have seen this season's average so far around 16,500 maybe. Still down but as the Champ seasons go on it will dwindle to some extent.

That was the average for the whole season, I don’t agree with comparing sets of games. But if you wanted to do that the average was around 16,450. Something of that nature anyway.

I can see us having 19k on Saturday following the recent upturn in our results. Cardiff should always be a sellout at the Liberty in the Championship

We’re playing more attractive and successful football than last year, over the last month or so anyway. The only broad excuse for people who went regularly last year not going Saturday would be financial. I’m expecting a decent turn out

Cardiff only managed to sell 1,000 from their allocation last season sometime to do with a small concourse and apathetic away supporters.

He claims comparisons with games last season and this at the same stage isn’t a true comparison but 6 against 23 is! He also ignores relevant variables such as opposition, opposition fans, time of games, two seasons of restricted attendance. Basically a WOM with no understanding of data analysis who is desperate for us to fail so he can come back with, 'I told you so.' Best ignored IMO.

I don’t “claim” anything, I’m stating a fact. Data and analysis is my profession as many will know, I don’t just have “an understanding”, I have industry leading expert understanding. The relevance is minimal, different months, different games, different scenarios. There should be no correlation between sequence at all. If you think we should have a similar attendance for our 4th game this season for example - to our 4th game last season, just simply because it was “our 4th game”… then I really can’t help you as you have very little grasp of data analysis. It has nothing to do with “failing”, it’s a statement of fact. Our attendances are dipping, whichever way you want to look at it. If you want to compare to full data sets as you should, if you want to compare first 6 to last seasons first 6, if you want to compare opposition this season to opposition last season…. Attendances ARE dipping. Now you may not like that and I can see it’s upset you that you have been proven wrong, but facts they remain.

It is not fair to accuse him of being rude and a WUM but do the same to him. If he is subject to people speaking to him in an inpolite way, you cannot blame him if he responds in a like fashion. It has been really pleasant for the past month or so, please give him the same respect we have shown each other. Don't like his comments ? Ignore him
