The promotion side was better in every position. We are never ready for promotion but a playoff place is possible. With this midfield that would be a victory. Still got my doubts about Cooper but we’ll know a lot more by next Xmas.
"Yossarian- the very sight of the name made him shudder. There were so many esses in it. It just had to be subversive" (Catch 22)
Yes, I can understand it is frustrating watching week after week with the same scenario being played out in front of you, whereas you and I sit there most weeks and have done for many years and watched some dire teams.
There are some people who have only seen the Swans in the post Martinez era and we are a long way from those teams, although Sousa and Monk played a very dry game.
We are going to be rebuilding for several years to get anywhere near the level we have been in the past.
My point still stands we are knocking down the house and building a shed. Next season we are going to have a very very poor squad full of kids and rejects, and there is no way Cooper has the ability to get a tune out of them.
We don't know what kind of squad we're going to have next season though do we?
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
We bloody well do, it'll be one packed with quality, skill, guile and experience with more than a smattering of internationals in it. NOT...kids and freebies thats what it will contain.
Yes because the Yanks who said they could stand a relegation and who were going to take us to the next level are a bunch of lying çunts who have taken the cheap option once again in getting in a inexperienced manager who is looking out of his depth.
Cooper is making it really hard for me to keep defending him.
The Pros: - A very good start to the season - A number of (loan) signings including a GK - New coaching staff including set pieces coach - Attracted youth signings with his contacts - Good relationship with our best player in Ayew
The Cons: - 26 points in 21 games - Playing style slowly changing to direct football - Players going backwards - Appointing Grimes as captain - Lack of use of subs (0 yesterday) - Subs being used too late in games - Lack of emotion from the sideline - Lack of honesty in press conferences when it comes to our performances and playing style - Playing players who are known to be carrying injuries
If there were better options out there which were within our budget, I'd be willing to see Cooper go. But there aren't.
No subs until the 76th minute, and it was a forced one. At least he tried Borja on for Bidwell for a last ditch effort to try snag a point.
I'd like to think he can improve the way he makes his subs, but it's common sense to send a fresh player on at about the 60 minute mark, especially if you've gone down 0-1. He isn't learning.
Still CooperIn though, for the reasons I've mentioned in the past.
He has got to go. For all potters improvement with us, how far back has cooper managed to take us in 6 months and it is getting worse and worse. Don't let the league table fool you still, we are awful!
