Reality Sets In... on 17:12 - Aug 23 with 2380 views | vectis | Er...did you watch the same game as me? Pelle worked his ass off. He got crap service and needs a goal. It was a frustrating and boring match and certainly a few players didn't turn up. But we all knew it was going to take time. Poch was never going to stay after cortese left so take your holier than thou crap and stuff it up your arse. You know nothing at all so stop pretending you were right all along. As for the team. Not great. But there were times we were no better under poch. We lost games we should have won. Get over it. I will.
Reality Sets In... on 17:19 - Aug 23 with 2384 views | ClickInsect | You've talked on a few threads so far Vectis, you've lost every argument & now you are resorting to the same thing as the rest of the developmentally disabled on this site, it just took you longer. Pelle didn't make a single run, on or off the ball in this match & I'm pretty sure against Liverpool as well. If you are completely stationary everytime the ball is delivered, it's almost certain that you are no going to score. Generally speaking you get forgiven for a lack of ability, but if when the ball is being delivered, you are not gambling, then you have no right to be given the benefit of the doubt. Had he got away from his man when crosses came in? Had he sprinted to the front post? Had he drifted off the back of his marker to the back post? Or was he doing an impression of a lamp post? You don't see these things, because you don't have the eye for it clearly. Also, because I was at the match, I know that the fans were groaning everytime he lost the ball, which was almost every touch and cheering ironically when he managed to get it to a team mate. This is on the player's home debut. So you can keep denying reality like the other freaks and apologists in my blocked area! Hope you all have fun. Xx Ps. Almost forget, you talking about saying I know something? No my darling! I am just capable of reading a newspaper or turning on the TV, radio, or looking at the odds at the bookies. You fooking space cadet, allow reality to seep in occasionally! [Post edited 23 Aug 2014 17:21]

Reality Sets In... on 17:54 - Aug 23 with 2328 views | BarnetSaint | On my way back to London. Very frustrating. Pelle worked hard, but we did not create anything so let's give him a bit more time. JRod was poor to begin with remember. We need width to break these teams down as our full backs didn't push on either. The fact of the matter is that aside from the top 7 who have pre booked their places, the rest of us are much of a muchness and I'm confident Koeman has the nous to improve the team and won't be sentimental when it comes to dropping people. I've been very critical myself of kat and co but what's done is done. Time to move on.
Reality Sets In... on 17:56 - Aug 23 with 2288 views | vectis | Well, I was watching the game on tv, with, you know, close ups and replays, and analysis and stuff...but sure, being in the stadium gives you a better view...but from what i saw pelle is no lambert and not a great target man, but he made runs, won headers, flicks, lay offs...not all accurately its true. He looked pretty crap I can admit that...but Davis, tadic and JWP also sent balls off into nowhere. How many crosses went over Pelle's head? On those arguably rare occasions when he did win a header who was anywhere near him to receive it? Unfair to make him a guly/fox style scapegoat. If there is a problem here it is the balance of the team and the fitness levels which seem to have dropped dramatically. Having watched the Villa & Newcastle match and also now watching Leicester...we're not the only team struggling to find a decent goal scorer. "Oh, but we had them and let them go!" You whine. Well, yes. Tough. Get over it. Lost every argument? When? When did I lose any argument with you? You know I am right about Poch and you have provided no answer for how to keep the players who wanted to go to bigger clubs. You've provided replies but not answers. You bang on about lallana calling the board...why was he doing that? To ask them the clubs ambition? Or to tell them he wanted to go to Liverpool? Why entertain his calls when you already know what he wants? He was told to wait and he felt aggrieved and threw his toys out of the pram to the media. And lovren? And honestly...you would have stopped Rickie going to Liverpool? You're that much of a bar-steward? Chambers is the only one I am peed off about - and that's only cos he is making a damn fine centre half! Missed a trick there. So far unimpressed with Koeman. On many levels. But we all knew things were going to take time. And I am not writing us off just yet. There is a long way to go and my expectations are just as they were in the last two seasons...first try not get relegated and second finish around mid-table (15th as I have predicted. Anything else is a bonus). Don't see our realistic aims this year as any different to the last 2.

Reality Sets In... on 18:57 - Aug 23 with 2202 views | Libertine36 | We all knew the first few games would be hard when building a new team So no need to start whinging after a draw. Agree Pelle did not have a great game but playing like expectation is on him and following Lambert after all he done for us is a hard thing.(though I did say the same about Osvaldo but he was a cock). Things will pick up we did show flashes of good passing and movement. Boring game though.

Our new keeper is looking like a great piece of business already. pelle has now played two whole games and people are already slagging him off. typical. good point. onwards and upwards

Reality Sets In... on 20:11 - Aug 23 with 2036 views | Del_Bianco | And some players take a bit longer to adapt. Pelle is a big lad and might need a few games to get his fitness up, I seem to remember James beattie was dog sh*t up until about the 6th game of every season for this reason. It's absolutely pathetic you writing him off so early and seam to be simply because you're anti Les Reed and our board as well as him not being Rickie lambert.

Reality Sets In... on 20:56 - Aug 23 with 1940 views | ClickInsect | It's not time to move on at all. That's what you heard today. You heard a group of fans, jeering a player on his home debut because they are furious about what has happened this summer. This is reality setting in for people on this board that have spent years finding fault with success & are now set on excusing failure. The club has no good will in the bank and the fans that turn up to games are upset with Pelle for the same reason that they are upset with the administration. If you put the effort in & fall short, then people will accept it. If you don't make a run in a match, then people won't accept it if you don't put in a good performance. If you sell 92m worth of players, telling the fans what a good money you are getting while raising ticket prices then you are not making an effort to take the club forward. That means when you strike a bum note, you have no goodwill to call on. It's ridiculous that people were getting on Pelle's back today, because I've never once seen a player improve after getting barracked by his own fans. Quite apart from the fact of being embarrassing to see from our support. Maybe he will go away and think to himself that it might be a good idea to try and move when the ball is crossed. But I doubt it's helped at all. People can make all the comparisons they wish, but unless it's a comparison about a player that has come into a club to replace a fan's favorite for a team expected to finish in the top 10, then it's not a very good comparison. J-Rod went from a decent Championship outfit, to a newly promoted premier league team with a settled first eleven and he parred pretty much in his first season. Pelle needs to get double figures for goals and assists this season. That means in every other game he needs to be scoring or getting an assist, he looks miles away from that & while he is not doing it, this club is losing points. As far as Koeman goes, I'm completely unconvinced, because I think his options are terrible and that is his fault for not knowing the market. Long doesn't have the technical ability or the positional discipline to play wide. He also isn't good enough to play through the middle on his own. For him to start, he'd need to play up alongside Pelle in a front two, which probably means that the only play Ron has left to make is to switch us to a diamond. Probably with Tadic as a no 10. Wanyama as the anchor & Davis and Morgan going box to box. We've spent a shite load on players that probably aren't very good. Ron's going to have to milk them for all he's worth & today's he's been schooled by Alan Irvine. West Brom completely shut down our midfield, stopped us from playing from the back, allowed us no clear cut chance in the match & if they'd have shown a bit more adventure, would have got a goal. Anybody that thinks that we'll play many teams this season who'll be intimidated by the names on our team sheet, needs to think again. In terms of a team on paper, there was hardly anything between us and West Brom and they are tipped for relegation.

Reality Sets In... on 21:11 - Aug 23 with 1887 views | Heisenberg | Well WBA came for a point and did the job well. We looked like a team that is in the process of bring rebuilt and there were some positives and clearly areas where we need to improve. What I can't understand is the whining and moaning. There was a small minority near me who started moaning after 5 minutes and were still going as the game finished. The same so called fans who think it's ok to ironically cheer Pelle or start singing there's only one Jack Cork. Great. Really lifting the team there. And I get back and there they are on here. Why don't you just bugger off and support someone else if you can't get behind the team. Moaning pricks. Rant over.

Reality Sets In... on 21:34 - Aug 23 with 1865 views | dirk_doone | Seriously, why don't you try talking about the positives from today instead of coming on here whining and moaning? Where I was sitting, quite near the away fans, the fans were generally very supportive of the team. I didn't hear anyone jeer Pelle. West Brom fans were surprisingly quiet in the first half even though their team was doing most of the attacking. They woke up a bit in the second half when they thought they'd scored with that shot into the side netting. The crowd was slightly bigger than I'd expected so it looks like season ticket sales haven't fallen by much. As I said earlier, we had some good performances today from Yoshida, Fonte, Forster and Tadic. Forster and Tadic look like two excellent signings. I think we can go up to West Ham and get a 0-0 draw, which will be a very good result, considering they won 3-1 today. I haven't heard any positive report from you or Del about today's game. All you seem to want to do is bicker and moan. Be positive for a change, OK? [Post edited 23 Aug 2014 21:38]

Reality Sets In... on 21:39 - Aug 23 with 1821 views | Heisenberg | Can I suggest you actually go and have another read of my post. I said WBA came for a point and we looked ok but a team in the process of being rebuilt. There were some POSITIVES and some things we need to improve. How is that being negative ?. I'm negative about the people who ironically cheered Pelle and were singing there's only one Jack Cork. They are a very small minority who I can't understand.

Reality Sets In... on 21:41 - Aug 23 with 1837 views | dirk_doone | I didn't hear that. As I said, where I was in the Itchen, the crowd was supportive and there was certainly no booing, ironic cheering or jeering. I guess we were in different parts of the stadium. I was pleasantly surprised to see the stadium was nearly full. It looked like 28,000 + but it turns out it was 27,598. I'm not sure that all of the 1,500 West Brom fans who reportedly bought tickets, showed up. There was, as there often is, that big empty section in the middle of the Northam. But, it was a nice sunny day, and at the end most of us were quite relieved that we got a point. [Post edited 23 Aug 2014 21:46]
