Snowfall in Leigh On sea currently with less depth than Stan Cummings in his dorothy perkins fishnets doing the limbo, i.e 1/2 an inch, yet my builders can't navigate the seemingly sir john franklin erebus expedition of the flemish cap from basildon to leigh, to stick up a fackin' partition wall and bi fold doors' , because of the snow'.

Most vexing to my spirit as i've taken 3 days off work. Might as well go down the Peterboat for sensibly priced lager by the fishing boats.

it's a shame as I once took leave from fasting and prayer, for about 33 years, to partake of alcohol and Recreational drugs. At 17 Satan did tempt me and bestowed upon me incontinence most high after 3 grams of hurry up and 15 pints of holsten in the coach and horses, Plaistow.

oh wretched man that i am, my strength faileth because of my iniquity; my bones have been consumed by the pleasures of the flesh. I am a broken vessel, Waiting for the Peterboat to open at 11.30am to get on the facking tap.Fackin' Builders.

I think there's a poster on this form going by the name of 'i must be mad' - just what I am thinking as I get ready to drive up to the Villa game (via Nottingham)...

That said, the worst of the weather seems to be over, most main routes seem to be running (at a slow pace).

Hope to see some fellow Rs there - could feel like a long 90 mins. Suffering is good for the soul, they say.

Any chance of this being off? Another load of snow being dumped on us this afternoon and evening.

Hi all, first time caller but a long time listener.

Taking a look at Villa forums a few of their fans seem fairly certain that Saturday's game will be called off. https://www.villatalk.com/topic/17368-pre-match-thread/?page=3

Haven't bought my ticket yet but got travel down booked. Before I buy one has anyone got experience of away games being called off? Will it be a refund or just a ticket to the rescheduled game?

Took my Dave 4 hours to drive down from Birmingham to Kent yesterday evening, tonight they're flying to Dubai from Heathrow, the A34 South of Newbury was closed for most of the day yesterday after some poor sod was killed in an accident.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I guess, as per usual, we'll find out by noon tomorrow. Going to meet a mate in Notts anyway so heading up undeterred (with blanket and kendal mint cake).

Won't have access to emails etc so will just tap in to BBC on the phone tomorrow and listen to 5 Live for info.

"Thank you for supporting Queens Park Rangers Steep Staircase"... and I thought I'd signed up for a rollercoaster.

Taken from a Villa forum

"They have sent a email to supporters club just seen it this is what it says:

QPR tomorrow - weather etc.
Much discussion to be had this morning and will update on here as soon as I know anything. We caught the edge of the snow last night and will probably have more later. We are still preparing full steam ahead for the match being on and constantly assessing current situation and forecasts. Not 100% it will be on."

Sounds like Birmingham is going to get another dose overnight. Their pitch will be fine just safety i guess. I reckon its 50'50

The weather forecast is poor for that area, with a snowstorm on the way. it's not just the pitch that's taken into consideration but the condition of walkways and stairs for the fans. The storm is expected to go through the midlands and on up to Liverpool where it could cause millions of pounds worth of improvements.

After missing Bristol City away last year due to that tanker fire I am beginning to feel I shouldn't bother with the few away games I go to every year.

Getting bored of it all now.

'Specially those people posting pictures of mad lads skiing in the snow in Ireland. They're mad those lads. Mad.

I bet no one in The Alps is mad enough to ski when it snows there.

I loved how the news last night was all about the snow . They then went to the weathermen to tell us.... its snowing.
Surely its the weathermen/women to tell us its snowing and the news casters to give us news?

Hope you manage to get home LondonJock

If you see Eddie Jones on your travels treat him nicely

I’m not far from Heathrow and unless they’re using a different flight path I’m afraid there’s not much air traffic so far this morning
The wind is proper, proper cold

Good luck fella

Thanks L.

I've been tracking the weather in London and the forecast WAS for rain on Sat morning and a lift in temperature.

Now the rain has gone (to be replaced by fog) and the temperature has gone back down.

And there is a warning of "potential disruption caused by snow and ice between 3am and 9am".

Winds here are now 30mph, due to hit 50 later in the day....

Oh well. Flight not cancelled yet and there will be bars in the airport.....

Southern Rail have said they're closing down at 3pm today, South Western at 8pm. It's like Christmas Eve, without a houseful of drink.

I play monday nights. Used to be at the sports center but now play at Goals in Winnersh. Just wondered if you play there. Seen a couple of lads playing on the other pitch with QPR shirts on.
If you get short of players let me know. When the weather is better of course!

OK will let you know, thank you. We play whenever the pitch is playable, which means we recently played when it was 1 degree. That was interesting

I was stunned a few years back when one of the players turned up in one of those natty grey and black QPR training tops. I was very impressed until he revealed that his son had bought him it for Christmas, as some sort of joke . He's actually a ManUre fan

Margate v Kingstonian has been called off. Gonna go and get drunk in London and not bother heading into Kent (an actual impossibility atm).

The idea of sitting in a plastic seat watching the Rs pretend to care in a near-meaningless end of season fixture in the Midlands is about as appetising as a Iceland supermarket branded ready meal consisting of Kerry Katona's latest lightly-seasoned abortion.

Bought my ticket so guess I'm going too

I don't recall going to an away game so certain we'd be stuffed since Jan 2nd 2013 and I hate Villa almost as much as that lot.
