Beast From The East. on 11:01 - Mar 1 by Discodroids | Still snowing in leigh on sea heavily, and I've been cast to the seventh rung of hell, the Mrs is taking the rest off the week off to keep me company and jack up the opiate 'location location location' for the next 3 days. In Addition ocado have cancelled their delivery meaning im clean out of French nonpareils capers, fingerling Marrow and farfalle Croquettes. How my life has changed , i remember being knee deep in snow in the early 2000's trudging back to lloyds of london like a snow blind Amundsen after a white haired angel of domination in full kit had tormented me in exchange for many coins of the realm above drakes wine bar in leadenhall market, Recording my racial purity for her files via physiognomy instrumentation while screaming degenerate obscenities at me. Now, it's all partition walls , thermal cavity wall insulation, builders that don't turn up unless they have a helicopter and a bag of nobbys nuts by the sea. help me. |

The Zak Wiltshire is shite (more towards Thundersley) & the Tarpots Harvester is double shite, it's like an oasis if you live near there. Can't walk to The Bread & cheese in this weather........brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr |
Still to try those fine inn's mate, I'm sure i'll get to them over the coming months. As the Mrs is at home for the next few days I'm sure we'll be off to the poncy Sandbar in leigh broadway for Rustic watercress frittata and cider plum with sea salt and turned lamb toast. Hopefully a pint or two as well. [Post edited 1 Mar 2018 11:55]

Beast From The East. on 12:30 - Mar 1 with 2790 views | Silverfoxqpr | I'm pretty indifferent to this weather to be honest, it is what it is and all that. Quite enjoyed slip sliding around on my walk to Aldershot station this morning through the local park, sound tracked by Faith No More's latest opus. And credit where credit is due, didn't think for a second South Western Railway would be able to sustain any sort of service this week to transport me to and from my Ivory Tower here in the beating heart of the financial district. Thus far they have though. Great days. BUT Jesus Christ nailed to a sh1thouse NO HEATING on the 7.04 this morning!! What's the matter with these tit rifles? I'm still farkin cold now as they then re-routed us via Ascot taking 2 hours, it's usually a 45 minute journey. Thinking of going to the gym to warm up and get the blood circulating again although I'll probably drop dead of brain freeze outside the Gherkin...............think I'll work from home tomorrow.

Beast From The East. on 09:40 - Mar 1 by hubble | Very unlikely that you know a village West of Montpellier called Le Pouget (south of Gignac), but I spent a wild summer there in 1985 working on a tiny medieval house in the heart of the village. Nearly 20 years later I worked in Montpellier briefly as a writer working with a computer game studio. Beautiful city and part of the world. My friend still has the house in Le Pouget. Nice to be reminded of it. This thread is like a psychogeographical tour of Rangers fans! |
I certainly know Le Pouget yes. I live not far, in Viols le Fort. Snow has been replaced by rain now and slowly melting. About 2000 people have been stuck in their car on the A9 motorway south of Montpellier for over 24H! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Beast From The East. on 10:22 - Mar 1 by hopphoops | Hi Eric, it just got to Haute Savoie this morning, total carnage on the roads. Here it's "le retour du sud" Re the myth of Britain collapsing and the rest of the world being fine when it snows. the only difference is winter tyres. Countries where everyone has them are ok, those without aren't. Salt and snowploughs have insignificant impacts in comparison. |
Yes, here most people used chains to get out of the village. The problems on the roads yesterday and last night have been because yesterday the forecast was snow in the morning and rain in the afternoon, so people left to work thinking they'd be OK, without snow tires or chains. Countless have slept in town and still struggle to get back today. On the motorway it's mostly foreign lorries who couldn't read the message boards asking lorries to stop and then got stuck, preventing the gritters to go through and trapping thousands of people

At a school in Slough which is near where I used to work, but I do know of a footer session in Bracknell which a mate goes to, if you are looking for a game. Please send me a personal message if you are, sir. RFA

I play monday nights. Used to be at the sports center but now play at Goals in Winnersh. Just wondered if you play there. Seen a couple of lads playing on the other pitch with QPR shirts on. If you get short of players let me know. When the weather is better of course!

Beast From The East. on 15:10 - Mar 1 with 2577 views | timeforheroes | Hi all, first time caller but a long time listener. Taking a look at Villa forums a few of their fans seem fairly certain that Saturday's game will be called off. https://www.villatalk.com/topic/17368-pre-match-thread/?page=3 Haven't bought my ticket yet but got travel down booked. Before I buy one has anyone got experience of away games being called off? Will it be a refund or just a ticket to the rescheduled game?

Could well be called off, if not for the state of the pitch then for stairs and pavements being in a dangerous state.

Elf and Safety gone mad innit. Assuming the pitch is OK then they would still play these games in the past, but now everyone's worried about getting sued instead because Old Bert didn't look where he was going on the stairs and broke his hip.

The difference is that of rear wheel drive, front wheel drive, AWD or four wheel drive. The countries where drivers opt for rear wheel are at a severe disadvantage in snow or ice. Guess what the preferred choice is in Britain?

Beast From The East. on 02:13 - Mar 2 with 2123 views | Boston | Might be an interesting weather day for myself tomorrow. I’m working in a barn with the ocean out the back of us, apparently it’s going to be a trifle windy, coastal flooding and all that. Better pack a lilo and the flare gun.

Beast From The East. on 03:23 - Mar 2 with 2118 views | londonscottish | I'm still at bloody work in Washington DC. Day 10. Tomorrow will be Day 11 and I'm supposed to be able to escape the Land of the Free at 10.20 pm local time. Not that I'm counting or anything. The only problem being that flights out to Heathrow today have been cancelled because of the snow in the UK. And tomorrows's flights out to Canada have already been cancelled due to the storm due to hit here in the next few hours. FFS. I'm not a celebrity but get me out of here. I'm missing my kids :-( [Post edited 2 Mar 2018 3:29]
