| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

The majority shareholders really do deserve so much credit for this, so hope it doesn’t get overlooked. This is quality investment that not a lot of clubs at our level tend to get. 8 figure investments.

Agree. They can now get the Manning deal done. No excuses.

I just can’t see it mate, he wants far too much and his options offer him that on a new contract away from Swansea.

I don’t think so. Paying a left back 25k a week + is just senseless. He wants to leave so let him. If we pay our left back 25k a week the unrest that would cause would end up being intolerable and unworkable. The agents of every player we have will want an upgrade. We want this investment to mean a better squad for us, not the same squad just all on even more salary. [Post edited 27 Apr 2023 20:30]

There isn’t one, it’s a transient number that we would prefer to not go over as a % of expenditure vs income, all (or most) clubs have that sort of thing. If a player is worth the money then we will pay it. Manning is not worth what it would take to keep him. [Post edited 27 Apr 2023 22:35]

Kaplan is mentioned in paragraph 3 as you would expect. £10m if used for recruitment could either go a long way and be a big boost to the club or simply be frizzled away. Chelsea and Everton have burned hundreds of millions making their sides weaker not stronger. Swansea got promoted buying Scott Sinclair for next to nothing and Bring in a quality loan in Borini and bolting them on to a group of hardened pros like Monk Williams De Vries Rangel Allen and Britton. If Swansea could be first in the queue for the likes for Ogbene, Drameh, Cannon, Surridge maybe, proven young players in the Championship. Get Key and give Piroe and extension the job is a good un.

That's the issue, Football isn't like buying tickets for a Harry Styles concert......being first in the queue doesn't guarantee you anything. There needs to be a dose of proactive put into some.

The Scott Sinclair deal was half a million up front with a further million, should we get promoted, we didn't have half a million in those days so Martin Morgan loaned it to the club, it worked out just fine and we had more than enough to pay back Morgan and Chelsea. That, and getting Leon back from Sheffield United was the catalyst and Morgan was instrumental in getting Leon back too, he knew Trevor Birch well and the deal was set up. I will add that the figures mentioned don't seem much in today's game but back then the were astronomical, for us.

Morgan the fairy godmother of the club. He has been such a godsend for the club. He is the gift that keeps giving. He and Jenkins deserve a statue. It is not surprise the highly educated fans churned out by the local comprehensive schools seem to detest the fellow. Perhaps it is just forum posturing ? The fake posers have all gone to Planetswanssong. What the hell were they learning in there from 12-18?

Yet more digs at Swansea fans, why do you have such a big problem with people from Swansea and make constant snide remarks about us all? . Now on topic, Piroe surely must be sold. If the owners are not confident of a promotion push (and how can they be) they must cash in if a suitable offer comes in. Manning made his decision and it's out of our hands. The most important thing now is recruitment.
More info on investment. on 20:00 - Jun 2 with 1960 views | Whiterockin | One thing I can't understand is we now have a chairman who has made a significant investment in the club. https://www.swanseacity.com/news/swansea-city-appoint-andy-coleman-chairman But there is currently no record at Companies House. So has he made an investment and how much and how much is the associated investment. Or do we currently have a chairman who has invested nothing running the club. Clarification from anyone would be appreciated. [Post edited 2 Jun 2023 20:07]

Why would they not be confident of promotion? Latibeaudiere is easily replaceable and Manning to if we are interested in a defender rather than a 'bit-like-a-winger'. Cundle could also return.Meanwhile after his pooodie Martin saw Cullen flourish, NtCham came into his own, Cooper improved no end after a run of games, Whittaker wasn’t given a fair crack, Walsh was getting back some form and fitness. That squad won 23 from 27 points … mathematically 117 points a season.
