 | Forum Thread | The Paul Watson legacy. Was it so bad.? at 11:43 25 Apr 2025
With 5 wins under the belt this is as good as it has been for some time. So what is the Watson legacy. Ronald is back in form and looking a good p rospect again. Franco is a diamond and loved by the fans. And who brought in Sheehan who is much loved ATM. Yes it was Watson. They worked together at Luton. Vipotnik Vigoroux have been decent. Watson was not the disaster some continue to promote. |
 | Forum Thread | New Ospreys plan shows a bit more imagination. at 15:48 24 Apr 2025
https://www.ospreysrugby.com/news/ospreys-start-pre-application-consultation-red Some new schematic plans for the new stadium. The first scheme was bloody awful with a stadium within a stadium. This new effort is much better incorporating the existing dilapidated stadium. They need room to expand if the glory days return. This is most likely with a UK and RoI league down the line Quote "The council has conditionally agreed investment in St Helen’s, with the Ospreys planning to play there from the 2025-26 season.'. It seems to me Swansea city could go back to the council to reduce their lease on the Swansea.com if the Council is funding the Osprey move out of the Swansea .com. SCFC agreed a deal that included the Ospreys.. [Post edited 24 Apr 15:53]

 | Forum Thread | Eni Aluko at 13:58 23 Apr 2025
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cgkg8kjlp80o She, some might argue, virtually ended the football career of Mark Samson. He was no angel for sure. He said some inappropriate things ( I regarded as mild) and actually apologised. Aluko, a trained lawyer is very serious and would not doubt have little time for dressing room team building banter. Samson was subjected to a kangaroo court in the HoC with no right to self defence. Lianne Sandersons gripe was no cake for her 50 th cap. The England team did not back her and mobbed Samson after a win in the following game. Only Dan Ashworth stood up for Samson which was decent of him. It struck me as blatantly unfair. I have sympathy for her obviously with the on line abuse but presumably it goes with the territory. She certainly is feisty. [Post edited 23 Apr 14:07]

 | Forum Thread | Betty Campbell was great but is the disproportionate? at 12:54 7 Apr 2025
https://nation.cymru/feature/the-welsh-statue-mania/ Being first in any thing is creditable but being Wales s first Black head mistress possibly deserves a plaque. However the massive structure outside Cardiff Railways station is enormous. Bigger than anything for Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King. I was not familiar with the word "woke" but visitors must be baffled when asking what she he achieved. She became a head mistress and did good stuff in general. There is another statue in Cardiff for Sir Gareth Edwards who player "white skinned only" rugby in Apartheid South Africa. [Post edited 7 Apr 18:41]

 | Forum Thread | Labour always suffers when there is no unity at 23:29 2 Apr 2025
Deficits have to be cut. I accept I have to pay more tax and council charges are going to go up. People are worried in Wales. Some just worried enough to find a job somewhere. Gardening, litter collection, security guard working at Amazon etc. Dependency rates have rocketed and clearly got out of control. Wales new Senedd leader has to accept the harsh facts and buy into Labour policy. It is designed to reduce the burden on our descendants. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm254yvj906o.amp Dodging these issues and evasion is not good enough. | Forum Thread | Parallels with Routledge.? at 13:54 31 Mar 2025
It seems to me this guy might have parallels with Wayne Routledge. Extravagantly talented but largely unfulfilled. Wayne was out of reach fro Swansea but because of a lack of care found his mojo under Brendan and Laudrup and was on his way to the benefit of Swansea. Some players just take time. https://www.3addedminutes.com/sport/football/arsenal/best-player-arsenal-academy Marcus Edwards who another written off early and now fighting for a £10m deal at Burnley. I regard Routledge as a Swansea great. [Post edited 31 Mar 15:53]

 | Forum Thread | Vipotnik hits the ball very hard at 18:22 29 Mar 2025
Jan Vipotnik is a really good prospect at 22 and there is interest in him quite rightly. Six goal so far and a presence. I hope the club continues to develop him. If the midfielders give him space in the box he hit the ball like a rocket. An old fashioned player in the mould of Shearer. He will never be as good as Alan of course but definitely one to be optimistic about. Fans will hurl abuse at Mellier but that was a hell of a hit. Bony esq [Post edited 29 Mar 18:23]

 | Forum Thread | Why are food banks a bad thing? at 12:32 19 Mar 2025
This will be a controversial topic perhaps but what is wrong with food banks? The arguments are as follows. a). People should be looked after well enough the taxpayers b) it is humiliating for the users c) It represents a failure in society On the other hand. a) It is an expression of support off society and a good thing. Christian ( or other religions) values being enacted. b) It is not the job of the Government to feed people or keep people warm other than Children. c) Full grown adults of sound mind should look after themselves including food banks as a backstop. With the current mentality of citizens it is no surprise that the Welfare budget has ballooned and stating to drag the whole country down as debt payment eat up too much of tax revenues. If I was down on my luck I would use these facilities. I w once went into that cafe next to Gwyn Hall which seemed to dish out food for the old folk. I do not like the word "Austerity" as if it was a choice. There was no option. The policy was forgotten due to Brexit and Covid. The debt and deficit have not gone away. We as a nation are paying huge proportion of tax revenues in interest payments. Off course the billionaires should be taxed or at least encouraged to be philanthropic. It should be iterative to stop them running away to a tax haven. This is a very wealthy country where personal property gains are not taxed . The WAG did the right thing in taxing second holiday homes and a visitors tax. Every house you can see outside you bedroom window is owned by someone and worth over £200,000. We have elderly people struggling with cash while sitting on a gold mine. They struggle on benefits while keeping the house for "little Johnny" who expects a big inheritance. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce8vp560n7vo.amp We cannot afford it. [Post edited 19 Mar 13:32]
