Not really mixing anything up. We bought them for over market value, then sold them at way less than we bought them for. Ignoring the fact that they offered no “value” to the playing squad while they were here.

Buy high, sell low. That is no way to run a business. 10’s of millions wasted!


If Borja Baston has scored 20 league goals in his first season would you be saying that we paid above market value?

I think you would have to answer that with a ‘no’.

And for the record he was one of the form strikers in La Liga at the time and performing in a small team. His price was not above market value. It’s just unfortunate that he turned out to be gash.

Had we not signed him though we would still have spent big on a striker. Same applies to Mesa.
