Ashes Summer thread 10:53 - Jul 7 with 51093 views | BlackCrowe | Well I'll kick it off. Reckon Lehman's appointment was a masterstroke - it will be much closer as a result of his appointment. Who's going and when?

Ashes Summer thread on 08:25 - Jul 12 with 1096 views | derbyhoop | I was at Trent Bridge yesterday. Not sure about the stumping (benefit goes to the batsman) or Trott's LBW. In the latter case, if he didn't nick it, and I'm not convinced he did, then he was plumb. Not too sure about Root's dismissal either. But, overall, a cracking day. 1.5 days of limited overs cricket, followed by half a day of proper Test cricket, with Cook and KP trying to set us up to bat all day today. KP's strike rate was about 45. WTF!

So if he bats no.3 doesn't that make his record of the highest no 11 score ever null and void ?
| It's being so happy that keeps me going. |

The way I heard it, it was Henley Cricket Club he batted at 3 for, not Western Australia

This is correct - it was at Henley CC. It was a guy at work who took his wicket!

Doesn't matter whether he hit it or not (he did) but Trott should not have been given out by the 3rd umpire when all the techno was not available. Benefit of doubt to batsmen

Especially seeing as Joe Root had just walked when he actually hadn't got a nick!
Ashes Summer thread on 10:53 - Jul 12 with 1004 views | ElHoop | Bloody hell what a test. We were ok when I headed off for Portugal and now look. Looks likely to swing back and forth this one so will be trying two keep tabs. Come on KP stick the knife in.

Both gone now.133-4.It's going to be a bloody miracle if we get out of this without going one down. What's that word to describe the attitude of the English press before it started? Hubris, I believe.
Ashes Summer thread on 12:21 - Jul 12 with 954 views | adhoc_qpr | I can't see us getting out of this innings with a lead of much more than 250 at best now with our brittle middle order and weak tail and with no time pressure the Aussies can just pick that off. It will take a monumental effort from our bowlers (Aka Anderson and Swann) to not lose this match!
Ashes Summer thread on 12:30 - Jul 12 with 942 views | QPRDave | I reckon we could win with a 250 lead in the last innings ...

Anything above 250 and we have a chance as long as the ball keeps swinging. Swann is miles better than Agar so hopefully the ball will turn far more as well. The only problem will be Finn and Broad being too expensive. Need to bat all today still and much of tomorrow methinks.
