Former Dale boss Alan Buckley has signed former Dale loanee Rob Atkinson on a loan deal from Barnsley for relegation threatened Grimbsy Town.

Atkinson came to the club with high praise, as he was drafted in following an injury crisis to the defence, but found it difficult to get into the side, and he returned to Oakwell with just two twenty minute cameos to his name in Dale colours.

And with GTFC struggling down near the foot of the table, boss Buckley has acted on deadline day for loan signings by bringing the central defender to Blundell Park.
