Pub Guide - Studds Bar Wednesday, 1st Aug 2007 09:15 by Col When the board decided to build a stand on top of the crumbling Pearl Street terrace, there was very little opposition from the Rochdale supporters. Once the fans heard that there were plans to build a bar underneath the proposed new stand, there were celebrations from dusk till dawn. Studds Bar opens its doors from about 12pm on the days of home matches to both home and away supporters. It's mostly used by home fans but there's often a decent sprinkling of away supporters depending on who the opposition is. One of the big attractions about Studds Bar is the large screen which accompanies it. There's an overhead projector beaming images onto one of the walls, making one of the best places to watch in the town. Live TV games are often shown, as are notable Dale performances depending on how we've done in our previous fixture. A further attraction of Studds Bar is that it opens during the game. On many a cold winter afternoon, fans have abandoned watching the game from the Pearl Street Stand and ventured down into the warmth of Studds Bar to enjoy the remainder of the game from there. Arguably, the biggest attribute to Studds Bar is that it's half time opening at which point the majority of the Pearl Street stand descend inside. A pint, Jeff Stelling and a chance to mull over the first half - what more could you ask for?
